I got back from India on 4 March but have an awful case of bronchitis. Girlie did SO well with Deesh, my vet tech pet sitter. Her numbers were great (even two green AM and PMPS!), and she stuck to Deesh like glue and cuddled with her at night while she watched movies. It was worth every penny to have Deesh stay at my house and take care of Girlie rather than have her stay in a cage at the vet's.

But she was NOT happy with me about this! When I came home, she gave me the cold shoulder for many hours, only finally forgiving me that night. Now she's cuddly velcro cat again. I'm glad I have the bronchitis, as it allows me to be home with her so she feels reassured.

Max is coming home from his glorious spa time at Cat Utopia tomorrow. I know he'll be happy, but I also know that he's been having a splendid time in his own Penthouse suite and time on the garden jungle gym and extra cuddle time. He always comes back looking at my house with vague disappointment, as if the digs aren't quite what he's been used to, but he'll make do...

I hope everyone has been well! I'm going back to bed as I feel awful, but I'll check in when I feel a bit better.

Hi Darrah! Welcome back but sorry you are sick. I always get sick after flying. I am fighting a cold now since my return from TX.

Glad that Girlie has forgiven you for leaving her. And that the pet sitter was a good fit for her.

Feel better! :bighug:

Welcome back and get better soon. :bighug: Sounds like the petsetter is a keeper. I hope you had a good time.

I had an extraordinary time, Wendy! And Deesh, the vet nurse pet sitter, is definitely a keeper: I now feel like I can go away if need be and that Girlie will be safe and really well looked after. :-)

I actually had a sinus infection before I left, and it just continued. Delhi pollution is out of this world, and I'm sure that didn't help - as well as all of the flights. I hope you feel better soon, Bobbie!

I hate it when Girlie gives me the cold shoulder, but it's lovely when she comes back around and forgives me. Max, on the other hand, is just joyous and happy to tell me (loudly, unfortunately!) how much he loves me no matter what I do! I'll get that tomorrow - and that will annoy Girlie, I know... sigh!

I'm glad you had a great time! Girlie held a grudge... I love it!

The first time I went on holiday, she was frantic when I got home and wouldn't leave my side. Now she realizes that I'll come back, and she gets pissed off about me leaving. It's pretty predictable now: she always does this when I go away for more than a few days. You should have seen how she reacted when I was gone for three months in 2015 and 2016: the cold shoulder was impressive! I began to wonder if she'd ever forgive me...

But it's good to be forgiven! :-)

Welcome back! I hope you had an amazing trip and good find on the pet sitter. What a relief to have someone so qualified stay with Girlie and keep her safe for you. Glad you are forgiven now, you have to respect her expressing her feelings, she loves you so much! ;)

She's looking amazing, by the way. I'm excited for her to earn her next reduction! :woot:
