Good Morning, Everyone,
Rusty seems to be back to his old self this morning. I guess the reaction to the vaccine has worn off. He had a good night sleeping between his beans. He ate all of his nighttime food and was giving himself a bath when the alarm went off this morning. We had a good test, but the shot was questionable, since he moved just as I was pushing the plunger. I didn't have a chance to hold the syringe in for 6 seconds, as I usually do, but I think it got in (didn't smell Lev.). There was a small drop left in the syringe, which I then shot. Rusty ate all of the FF T&G in his breakfast bowl and left the Wellness turkey for later. This is his recent pattern and he is a grazer.
Rusty and Edward will be holding the fort this morning and early afternoon while I am leading the bike ride. It's a beautiful morning and the chance of rain today has been lowered to 20%, and that will probably be in the afternoon. I'm taking my Bike Friday folding touring bike today because the roads will still have crud on them from yesterday's downpours and I don't want to ride them on my skinny tire road bike. When I was scouting the route in the car yesterday I rescued a huge, ancient snapping turtle who was in the middle of the road, taking some sun. He would have been severely injured if he had been hit by a fast-moving car. I stopped, found a stick, and "encouraged" him by nudging his shell with the stick to walk to the pond side of the road and into the weeds. He went grudgingly, hissing with every step!
Sending healing vines to all kitties and beans who need some.
Wishing everyone a great day,
Ella & Rusty
