So Max is trying out for the South African Olympic Diving Squad....

After this mornings horrible 202 he dived to 49 at 3.5...
@ 5.5 he was 68 and then his PMBG is 94

So I gather I'm not shooting tonight and seeing where this goes... I fed him mini meals at +3.5; +5.5 and then at +9. Just fed him his +12 meal.
Our +9 happens to be at 2:30 AM/PM. I'm going to try and make a plan with someone to come and feed him in the afternoons, and we are setting the alarm so one of us can get up at 2:30am to feed him. I'm ordering a timed feeder from the States, but that could take a while to get here.

He hasn't been acting funny, rather the opposite really happy, but he is a cat so you never know if maybe he was out of sorts overnight to get the 202. There is no longer any kibble in the house, I gave it all away to a shelter a few weeks ago.

So do I go ahead and just see where this goes with no insulin?

Absolutely! Max is doing great. LOL---trying out for the dive team? That made me laugh out loud!! This PMBG is great so hold off on any insulin, k? Like Libby said yesterday (or earlier for you since the time difference-I'm totally confused  ) if he reads a little high, feed a little and test again a few hours later. If his pancreas is truely working as we want it to, it will release its own insulin and help to drop his BG's. All is good........ :RAHCAT

All of the kibble may be gone, but not all carbs. Gayle has a video of Oliver eating pasta. Others note that their cat will eat bagels, cookies, baked potato, etc.

I'm very happy that his numbers are back down. You may want to make sure Max isn't sneaking HC behind your back.

Pasta? Nice...sneaky little buggers

I actually can't remember if anything was left out last night. Friday nights are take out night and then Bean is too tired to clean up kitchen. But, I'm sure going to watch it from now on.

There is one little thing that is confusing me...when they are on insulin, we try to feed to get numbers up, now I'm feeding to get numbers down..I don't completly understand the food/pancreas interaction, can someone explain??
