Shadow polished off Raja's breffis this morning because her food tasted much better than his own. I have stopped even telling him that its the very same food. He is trying to groom himself now~~which is not that easy with his Ubangi collar around his neck. I put a new one on this morning and I am happy with the way his neck is looking now. I finally put that Nu-Stock ointment on him and it seems to be doing even more than the shea butter, It is to be applied once every three days so I covered his neck so he won't mess with it. I am just so tired of seeing him scratching and working on everything that I applied to him. I know he was injecting everything as he does the Omen head turning thing to lick the back of his neck. :o

Just as I was giving him his +4 snack last night, I heard some thunder. He must have been hearing it approaching way before I was aware that it was heading our way. We had a thunderstorm to beat all thunderstorms and it was right overhead for the longest time. I scooped him up and cradled him in my arms for about an hour. Raja came in from the terrace for her snack and then didn't even want to go out there again with all the noise. I held him the entire time and then brought him to bed where he stayed between us as we went to sleep. Raja came and actually went under the covers next to me to awhile too! She is not bothered by the thunder as he is but she wanted some attention too! Poor little guy is petrified.

We have a very strange morning here with dark low clouds and lots of hot howling wind. Now I'm hearing thunder again! nailbite_smile

Not crazy about his numbers yesterday but this morning with the 162, I am feeling a little hopeful. He needs to earn his second <50 soon...

Poor Shadow and the thunderstorm :sad: What a wonderful momma to cradle and love him.....so sweet. Don't you just wonder why they think everyone elses food must be better? :lol: Lovely start to the day...hope it stays great. Enjoy your Friday!

poor little guy! To be so scared of storms must be awful .. good thing you are a good momma to him and protect him during those nasty storms ... and I love the start to today!

Nice numbers to start today, but not so nice to start with some more thunderstorms. I hope they go away so Shadow doesn't have to hide.

awwwwwwwwwwwww, what a cozy sleep you all had last night. Sounds so sweet, Pat!

I hope the weather calms down so Raja can go back out to the terrace and Shadow can be on his way doing the things he likes to do.

Still so sweet tho. He knows who will take care of him and keep him safe.

Latte doesnt snuggle in bed with me anymore...EXCEPT when she vomits in the middle of the night or early a.m. Its like her way of saying she doesnt feel good and wants some love.

They sure are something, arent they?

Nice start to the day - wow! Keep up the good work. Sorry about the weather - it is not nice here either, minus the thunder. Mannie sends his greetings to Shadow, and sympathizes with the thunder - he's not a big fan either...

What a promising start to your day (sans the thunder!)

We had bad storms last night but needed the rain. I jumped through the roof with one clap of thunder but the kitties all just looked at me like I was being silly.

Nice numbers, but Oooooo that thunder. We hardly ever get it, but when we do Tess doesn't want to be held, she wants the deepest hidey-hole she can find.

Oh I love T-storms (Problems is we get monster hail too), we should get some in a few days (please NO RAIN for a bit) Finally after another cold wet day yesterday and sand sacking the city the water is receeding and we have SUN! Now just waiting for everything to dry out. Since we had no spring I hope summer is here now for good and better be a hot one!

Yesterday morning my street looked more like a river:

Got an email from Entirelypets.com. It seems that my package got to Tampa Postal sorting facility but the people there somehow sent it to San Diego Cali yesterday. :-| Waiting for the Halo Herbal salve. Can you believe the inefficiency? On a happy note: my coffee has left Austria! :lol:

Well, I will have an entire medicine cabinet full of stuff for my two if they ever get these hot spots again.
Shadow's wounds are covered with a white film from the Nu-Stock ointment so they are not open or red anymore. He is acting all sullen with his black bandage collar. Sun came out and storms are gone.
I am just getting so sick seeing the pictures of the birds covered in that disgusting oil. What a world!

Monique... do you have a raft inflated yet? Too much water for a car, you'll need a boat.

Oh my! Monique! Sleep walking in the muddy waters due to over doing it on caffeine. I'd rather OD on the chocolate she mentioned, hahaha!

Sorry I've been MIA. Inhaled some chlorine dust and didn't feel so good for a few days, then internet was out last night.

Let's not get started on the oil spill. I've got a whole lot to say on that subject and none of it nice, proper, or appropriate for public forums!

From what I hear on the news, the oil is making it's way around FL and will be coming up the east coast (supposedly to miss NJ and NY - how /why who knows).

So, I didn't know if you spotted it yet. I hope you don't, but sadly, I think you will in the next few weeks.

We don't have oil here yet...I am on the West Coast in the middle of Florida..they are seeing it on the panhandle to the north. The Gulf Stream loops in the middle of the Gulf and that is what will take it down to the Keys and around the end of Florida...up the entire East Coast. That is the way the Gulf Stream operates. There is already the lower part of the spill getting sucked up into the current.
There is not way we will not feel and see the effects of it even though the majority of damage will be elsewhere. The sea life will suffer for decades.
Sounds as if they are making progress right now...too little too late.

I took Shadow's bandage off and he is busy preening. I hope he doesn't reopen the sores...but he seems happier to be out of his neck brace.

He ate his snack nicely at +4 and dinner at PMPS time. He has been so busy all day grooming himself. He hasn't opened the sores again though...whew....they are white from the residue from that ointment but it is miraculous how it helped dry them up. I mean, seriously...it is miraculous.
Hopefully I can use the shea butter and/or the Halo herbal salve in the future to heal these things early on before they get this bad.
On the other hand, I am hoping that they both will never be bothered by them again!!!!!!! Fingers crossed. nailbite_smile

Poor Shadow... it's really a toss between the lampshade or the giraffe look isn't it? What a day!!

Well, Shadow my friend... if you're ever in Ontario and scared of storms, I'll let you try out this new closet I discovered. It's the best!

Hey Shad-0! You win the PMPS. But it was neat that we had the same AMPS. I'm feeling much better. Thanks for checking in on me. I had Gigantahairballitis. You should have seen it! My papabean missed it, but later mamabean found it--dried out--on the rug (right where I had left it). Both of them were really happy to see it.
Hope you don't have any more thunderstorms tonight, pal. Don't be afraid. You did good wearing that collar. You made your mamabean happy and you helped your neck sores to heal. See you tomorrow!

Where are you on the west coast of Florida...I'm there too!

The oil has started washing ashore in the panhandle area of Florida...the furthest northwest part of Florida...so sad.

Ah yes the oil......you do know that the Gulf Stream is what keeps northern Europe from being a glacier? It is what brings warm waters from the equator regions along the eat coast USA past Newfoundland and across the Altalntic (North Atlantic Drift). This could very well become a big problem for the whole Nothern hemisphere. Some speculate already that the oil has slowed the GS (the underwater part which cannot be seen) and is partly ressponsible for the recent extreme cold weather in central Europe (snow and frost beginning of June!). Personally I doubt the oil is responsible (YET...) other factors such as El Nino (which causes colder winters in Europe) El Nina, unusually low activity on the sun... In any case it is a really big mess that will be causing problems for a long time.

Very nice PMPS Shadow! I hope you earn that 2nd <50 very soon...Tick, tick! :mrgreen:
