Good Morning, Everyone,

We all had a good night (very cool sleeping weather; heavy rain; a good night to sleep soundly). Rusty woke me with head butts a second before the alarm went off. Good test, shot, 2 sittings of breakfast, but the big guy doesn't feel like playing yet. Yesterday I made a "puzzle box" for him like the one Melissa made for Tarragon and he had a good time playing with it (and simultaneously with his "Red Ears" mouse on a string). It looks like we will get some sunshine today, so in a little while I'll take Rusty outside. Maybe I'll be able to get out on my bike this afternoon (to make up for the missed ride yesterday: I'm actually sorry I cancelled it, because most of the rain held off until mid afternoon--I'll learn one of these days and if it had been a paddle or a hike I wouldn't have cancelled, but slimy roads and poor visibility are not good for bike rides and it is hard to predict at 8 A.M. what it will be like at 10 A.M. when you have a whole group of people to contact!)

Everyone have a fine Thursday,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 6/30 Rusty AMPS 114

Good morning Rusty & Ella! Great AMPS this morning! Head butts are such a great way to wake up!

Glad Ella liked the puzzle box. Natalia is the one who it originated with. There was a bit of an argument at my house last night between Tarragon and Turnup over it so I guess I need to make a second one. Tarragon was not letting Turnup play with it at all and she was not happy about it. A lot of hissing and smacking was going on. I woke up this morning and Tarragon had drug it back to the bedroom and had it at the base of the bed wanting more treats in it.

Hope you get to go riding today. I don't blame you about riding in bad weather. Slimy roads can be disastorous. Hope you have a wonderful day!!

Re: 6/30 Rusty AMPS 114

I'm going to have to try making one of these puzzle boxes. It seems to be a hit with the cool cats.

Rusty is looking good this morning. Hope you both have a wonderful day and you manage to get out on your bike

Re: 6/30 Rusty AMPS 114

Have a great day on the roads. I love sleeping w/ the sound of rain and the scent of the earth. Rusty seems to have all else well in hand.

Now I have to go check out the puzzle boxes! :-D

Re: 6/30 Rusty AMPS 114

We have a new rage out there - puzzle boxes - first it was the nanners, then the cubes, and now the boxes. I have got to try one. :-D :-D

I know on canceling rides and paddles and alike. I've done that with hikes, and then wonder - why?? Hard sometimes to know what the weather will do.... I hope you can get out today. and that you get that sunshine!

Rusty is off to a great start! GO RUSTY! Greens next, yes?

Hey Rusty!!! Off to the dunes! Grab Moonie and let's go, I bet we can get in some lizard catching too.... maybe fire up an outdoor fire pit or something - open grill. YUM! See you soon! ~~ Mannie

Hi Ella. Lovely numbers for Mr Rusty. :-D
I was thinking of you and Rusty this morning, when I had Checkers out in his cute little jacket/harness.
I worry about what he's trying to eat, 'cause I don't know the identity of all the weeds out there.
He's not the least bit interested in the little wren scolding him, or the chipmunk darting for cover....just gnawing on greens. Does Rusty chew on vegetation? Gees, how do you know what's safe?

It was gorgeous, sunny and cool today. I can't wait to be able to walk up my hill again.

Maggie and I will trade cities with you for one day. I would love some rain, and you can have our sunny 78 degrees weather! I love the sun but have to cover up or sunscreen up with past skin cancers. Well, one puzzle box coming up for Maggie since it's such a hit with the others. Nice numbers for Rusty today.

Hi again,
Sorry to be late and remiss in visiting condos tonight. I got caught up in writing a P.M. and then got timed out and lost it!!

Barb, so nice to hear from you and I hope that you and Devon & Peter had a good visit. It's neat that you could get together. Rusty isn't interested in eating plants at all, so I can't help you there. Stu, however, ate anything that was green (or brown) and growing (or died off). We had to tell people not to bring flowers to us because we worried that he might eat them. He was totally attracted to plants! Occasionally he got sick. I think he did it on purpose to get up hairballs!

The puzzle box, after a whirlwind play yesterday, has been ignored today. I put a plastic ball with a bell inside the box, but I gather that Melissa and Natalia put treats inside. I wonder what treats they use? I would think that the freeze-dried chicken bits would get pulverized from all that banging around! They are the only treats I feed Rusty. Suggestions??

I did get out on my bike today and did 20 hilly miles on my favorite route. It was a workout because there was also a stiff headwind. Now it's raining again, so I'm glad I got out. Ann, your 78 degrees sounds nice, but I kind of like our upper 60s on days when I go cycling! (And today there was even sunshine--a perfect Adirondack summer day.)

Everyone have a good evening,

Ni ni

nice on the bike ride! 20 miles?? wow - way to go! I need to bike more... simply never enough time. It sounds like you had a really good time.

I too read that some out freeze dried treats in the boxes... and wondered too if they would end up dust. What else could you use? Maybe those freeze dried shrimp? I dunno....

on bummer on the PM.... all that only to loose it. sheesssh!

Have a great evening guys!

Psssttttt - Rusty! Fresh Fish feast/party at Leo's tomorrow!! We gets to go to canada!!!! And they are having fireworks afterwards. You coming??? Yes??? See you! ~ Mannie
