Ok - I'm not even going to comment on the high blue today (but's it's kind of edging up there, don't you think?).

Appetite not good. She ate approx 1 Tbsp FF.

Blue's in his cage for breakfast time right now, but now that he's out during the day, I'm trying to figure out how much food I need to leave out. He's like a little Hoover - he will vacuum up everything he can get. And apparently he can get just about anywhere - check out the pic I left in yesterday's condo when I found Blue curled up on my bed last night (he used the pet steps and got up all by himself). Apparently he got down during the night (my other concern - just cuz you get up doesn't mean you can get down - I learned that climbing around on sandstone out in Utah... LOL).

This morning, I was just waking up to a huge charlie horse in my calf (it still feels sore) when Blue went back up the steps and hopped the last "step" onto the bed like it was no big deal.

Ok I'm thinking I might give Kasha some SQ fluids before I got to work. She's drinking a lot (ok, she's been drinking a lot for the 17+ years I've known her) and it seems to perk up her appetite a little. Plus - with that AMPS, I'm less worried about her dropping too low right away.

Okay now what's up with Kasha with the AMPS? I really think she is competing with Maggie's PMPS yesterday of 165! Maybe sympathy pains? Just when you think they are doing so good... Kasha is still in the blues though. Is she drinking more water than usual? Blue sure sounds like a character with nothing slowing him down. I hope Kasha starts eating better. Love that pic of Blue in the bed. Yep, I'm up early again, since 3 am! I'm checking out auto feeders online.

Ok - down in the 120s (barely) and it's not even +2.... I gave about 50 ml squids this morning, so that's probably part of that decrease, but still- whatever. I like the 120s better than the 160s ;-)

Nice to see that Ms. Kasha came down some for you, Krys. Hope she continues to do so for you.
That Blue, he certainly is the super-trooper, isn't he? Certainly doesn't let anything stop him or keep him down. I am so glad to hear he is coming along so nicely.

Hi Krys, From out perspective Kasha's AMPS are GREAT!! Blue sounds terrific. There's a birthday-cake party for Tray today and we're also celebrating Blue's birthday a day late, so be sure to send your kitties to the party (they might even be there already). Hope you get the numbers you want today, but Kasha's in charge, you know!

At some point, there's going to be a newbie who will think you are quite serious about this "high" numbers and we'll have to scrape the poor bean off the ceiling if there's a yellow on his/her SS. Jeez, there's me and Gabby who will give you whatever on bouncey days. Just be careful what you comment on......kwim?

Ok, ok... I'm not going to complain about my PS. Isn't it funny that 2 weeks ago this number would have scared me? And now I'll probably put down some more food and go for a walk or short hike... How quickly things can change (which is why I'm still nervous every time I get a PS).

She didn't eat that well - over 1 Tbsp, but not that much more. When we were first diagnosed, I would be sitting in tears trying to get her to eat, convinced that she'd hypo if I didn't get a full meal into her. Well, Kasha's not a full meal sort of girl - she likes to have a little now and a little in a while. I've been watching her lately and if I doze off on the couch and wake up to her eating food that's been sitting out for hours, I can guess that she's dropping low enough that she's not that picky... but most of the time in the last couple weeks, I've let her regulate herself - instead of putting out food in front of her, I monitor and let her eat when she feels like it.

Blue on the other hand eats when he feels like it or when anyone anywhere feels like it... I fed him in his cage tonight and then, when I was done feeding and shooting, I opened the door. I came back in a bit to clean the litter box (cuz Blue tried to dig his way to Brazil apparently - he's pretty nimble hopping and twisting and digging in the lb - think he was practicing some dance steps for the party later) and he was STILL in the cage... He told me he's never had a room of his own before, so he wants to keep it.

Ok - Kasha is debating whether to wear blue or green to the party tonight... Can't wait to see what she decides...

Blue News!!!

I was out watering the plants and struggling with putting together a cage for my cucumbers to use as a trellis, and I opened the storm door to the enclosed front porch and Kasha had come down the stairs and was lying on the mat near the door. So, I let her out on the steps and she just hung out with me near the big cucumber plants... Sneezing, cuz something outside makes her sneeze, it seems. She also played with some cucumber tendrils...

When I opened the door to let her back in - Blue was waiting for us. You think I was impressed with him using the pet steps to get on the bed last night? Well, he had to go down 13 real steps to get to the front porch. And then he pretty much ran up half of them, came down again - explored the porch, and then ran up all 13 steps when I headed up. He kind of slipped once or twice but it didn't even slow him down. By the time he got to the top, he was moving pretty quickly - dare I say running up the steps? Pretty awesome, all in all... It's only his 1st full day out of the cage!

I heard him mutter something about "pet steps are for sissies".

He's ready to par-tay!

Where's Maggie? He wants to show of his new tricks!

Wow! Blue is really really getting around! I was just looking at the pictures from yesterday and was so excited that he make it up on your bed! SO cute! And then when I came back, you wrote that he was up and down that flight of stairs! That is SO wonderful! I am so happy for you and for HIM!
Great news...and Kasha is looking good! Yay!

I've got to get some videos of him on those stairs... I took videos of him running up the stairs before he had the surgery - I didn't know what to expect from him after and I wanted to record for posterity how he could motor up those stairs... And now he's doing it again - with 3 feet!
 
Wow, that is amazing with Blue and those steps. He continues to amaze me. He didn't need any PT; too smart! Maggie will be by to pick Blue up for the party and wants a repeat of those steps. She's been making getting ready for over an hour.

I can't wait to see the video of Blue. Kasha's numbers look great, too.
 
Sounds like you have been having a super day at your house. Great numbers for Kasha and Blue doing the stairs. What more can we ask for?
