Hi, we went to a vet more versed in treating feline diabetes. It was a relief to be encouraged to do the home testing. She wants a curve run at home and sent to her. She recommended the Alpha Trek, vs. my ReliOn. But, I just bought 100 test strips, so I think I will keep up with that for a while.
She recommended her prescription dry food for free feeding my whole large crew. I am going to continue to figure out the food situation. (I have read here and on Facebook about vet prescription diet, and it doesn't sound good for anyone bit the vet).
The other thing she said, that the other vet never even mentioned, was that he needs a dental cleaning. I asked about how much, and they quoted up to $1000 (!). The vet we usually see is about half that. Does anyone see any harm in having the dental done there?
