6/28 Chloe - AMPS 101 | PMPS 85

Hi Alex If he has neuropathy I just mix it in with the morning meal, make sure to add water :cat:
https://www.vitacost.com/vitacost-vitamin-b-12-methylcobalamin-5000-mcg-100-capsules-6
Give it once a day
Alot of members use this , I use it myself you can buy it on line from Vitacost
Vitamin B-12 Methylcobalamin -- 5000 mcg - 100 Capsules
It's 14.49 just be sure this is the one you buy
Some us Zobaline , but it's expensive
This is the same thing
The only difference is the Zobaline has 200 mcgs of folic acid
So I buy the folic acid at the supermarket and crush it up and add it to the B-12
If you can't find the 200 mcg get the 400 mcg and cut it in half
The Vitacost brand is a capsule so just open it and pour the powder on the wet food
Has no taste, no need to crush it up
The Zobaline is 33.99 for 60 pills, too expensive
I saw a big improvement I'd say 3 months, could be sooner. One capsule a day.

For those who give their cats methyl b12, how many times a day do you give it? Once? Before each shot?

I know they’ll pee out whatever they don’t use, but I don’t want to waste it either. Thanks!
Hi Alex. My vet is going to order B12 injectable for Tiger. She says it is inexpensive and once or twice a week shots.
I have been sprinkling a little bit on every dish so that will be a welcome change!

Yes, she has had an occasional head twitch and some muscle tremors, which I thought might be signs of neuropathy based on a post @Kathy and tiger shared a few weeks ago. I started B12 recently to see if either would go away. Her next checkup is in mid-August, so if it's not improving by then, that's definitely something I want them to check out. They don't look like seizures, her BG has been pretty good, and she seems mostly unbothered by them.

I give oral b12 once daily mixed right into Butters's AMPS meal. She doesn't notice it is in there. She had neuropathy dx'd by her vet when she was dx'd with DM, though. He approved of me giving it to her and it helped tremendously once her numbers became regulated.

Ruby gets an injection of B12 after every acupuncture session and it perks her right up. Kitties with GI issues (IBD/SCL) can't absorb B12 well through their digestive tracts, so oral supplements don't work well. Of course I bought full a bottle of the brand that Diane linked from Vitacost when Ruby got diagnosed with CKD before SCL. I might start taking it instead of letting it go to waste. Maybe it'll perk me up too! :p

Alex if it is neuropathy he would be walking on his hocks, flat gppted like a rabbit walks. Would have to most likely have to take rest in between walking
Is that what you see?
