6/26 Brownie AMPS 185 - Oldtimer

[Patricia&Brownie]

Just an update on Mr. Browns - his numbers have been WAY high for the past few weeks and he is looking a bit more feeble. He steps in his pee in the litterbox regularly now and requires lots of extra grooming (by me, of course!). I took him to the vet for his summer shave yesterday - I forgot to ask them not to spray perfume on him and now he looks mahvelous but smells AWFUL! We didn't shave him quite so close this time, so he looks slightly less nekked!! He is still on cosequin and aspirin every 3 days and 150cc squids 2x a week. He still jumps up on our bed to snuggle and can still climb the stairs, but he's starting to wobble a bit! Getting old stinks! He'll be 19 in a few weeks.... He still gets lots of attention from the kids - last night they piled about 30 toy soldiers (from Toy Story 3) all around Brownie as he lay in his cat bed - they said the soldiers were protecting Brownie! Happy Caturday LL!

So good to see a post for Brownie. I'm sure Brownie will tell you old age is not for sissies. Not much golden about them. Glad the boys still play with him and take care of him. Come back more often. You are missed.

Whata sweet story! I can just picture Brownie with all of his toy soldiers! 19 years is quite a respectable age - he has earned the right to step in the odd puddle. It reminds me of my Grandfather when my Dad asked him why he kept losing his balance and falling down. He said "I'm 102 years old, for chr*ssakes, Walter"!

Getting old does suck but all we can do is make sure they're comfortable and happy. And it sounds like Brownie is both. He has a great family that loves him. What more can one ask for?

19 is a good age for a kitty, they get to do whatever they want and be catered to hand and foot.

I'm glad to hear that Brownie is doing A-okay for a true oldtimer.. He is truly loved!

I'll bet he appreciates keeping a little hair on.. I had a chuckle thinking of the nekked pictures of Brownie with one of his summer cuts.. lol..
