June 17th he was nauseated, didn't want to eat. Gave Slippery Elm. Food with a syringe throughout the day. 9:30 pmps BG 98. +3 dropped to 48. Took a while to get his BG up.

18th amps BG 105 lowered his insulin .25 Still nauseated, not eating (syringe feeding) Cannot find a Vet for blood tests . They're booked up & not accepting new patients.
Read it's OK to give Slippery Elm 4-5 times a day,so that's what I'm doing.

pmps BG 68, skipped shot. +5 only 114

19th amps BG 198 .25 pmps Bg 91 Skipped shot again. +6 129. He's eating small amounts this evening.I continue to give Slippery Elm & I think it's helping.

20th amps BG 96 skipped shot. Asked for food this morning, not eating very much. He came outside for a while & seems to be feeling better.

( BM was light yellow, tiny amount of bright red blood & soft, before this all started. )

Ravan had blood tests November 2019. In January he had a UTI & had blood work on Jan 21st. Vet said Ravan was doing Great. Kidney values were stable. Some of his results were better than before. ( I'm aware that all that can change in a short time)

Ravan was 19 on June 8th. He's done well with all his problems for 3 1/2 yrs.
For those that don't know. He has Diabetes,Kidney disease, High blood pressure & seizures ( hasn't had a seizure in over 3 months, he get's 3 drops of CBD Oil every night. )

Why would his BG be going down ? He's been stable on .5 dose for a long time. I realize this can't be a good thing. Something is wrong that he doesn't want to eat. He also gets Ringers every day .

I'm also concerned about giving him the blood Pressure meds. With his BG going down & not eating I'm wondering if his blood pressure might be down also?

Any ideas would be appreciated?

Is he getting as much food via syringes as he would if eating? Less food might mean less insulin needed. Also not sure why you are skipping with preshots in the 90's.

If it's been 5 months since last bloodwork and vet visit, I'd only be guessing what's up with Ravan. Sorry. There are numerous conditions that can cause nausea. I think you need to keep trying to find a vet with an open spot. How about the vet you saw in January? Sometimes you do need to get medications like ondansetron to help with nausea and a vet can help with that too. I don't think there's a correlation between blood pressure and him not eating. It's dangerous for him to spend time in high BP.

I realize this isn't ideal but if you can't get in to see a regular vet, what about an emergency clinic?

One emergency clinic here. 2 yrs ago they misdiagnosed my cat & he died. I'll never go there again. I've heard other people say they also had a bad experience there.

Today Ravan is eating a little better on his own. I think I 'll wait & see how he does.

why you are skipping with preshots in the 90's.

On the 17th his pmps was 98 & he dropped to 48 It was difficult to bring him up. I reduced to .25 pm on the next day & he went to 65. I skipped his shot 3 times & he never went above 200.
I thought it would be safer to just skip .

dangerous for him to spend time in high BP.

Even when he was diagnosed with High BP They could never seem to get an accurate reading They even bought a new doppler & tried several times on different places His tail , from his leg . The readings were all over the place. My vet back then admitted they rarely ever took a cats BP.

I've called every Vet around here & asked to be put on a waiting list. Right now they have all said they are not taking any new patients They are backed up for over 3 weeks.

If Raven's kidneys are failing or even cancer What good will it be to know that. I just thought maybe someone here might have experienced something similiar.

I can't find any info on why a cats BG would be dropping so low. There have been a few times when he wasn't eating & he went very low but when ever I skipped a shot his BG went 300-400 . That's not happening now.

Another thing I noticed he's not drinking much water. I've offer water to him & he turns away. I put clean water down every morning & the bowls don't look like much was gone. My other cat Alice has Kidney disease also & she has barely been drinking water either.

There are always several bowls of water available. Nothing has changed. Water,food everything the same. Ravan gets ringers every evening but Alice does not She gets a bit crazy & very stressed out when I approach her with any meds or the ringers,so I stopped. She's eating very good still but not drinking as much as usual either.

I'm very stessed & having trouble sleeping. I'm doing what I think is best for myself & my Kitties.

What BP medication is he on? Gabby was originally prescribed amlodipine and she lost her appetite. It's a fairly common side effect.

Ravan gets ringers every evening

Based just on what happened to Neko, I'd suggest taking his resting respiratory rate to eliminate one possibility. That's a count of the number of in and out breaths in a minute when he is resting. In and out is count of 1. I just used a 1 minute timer on my phone. Normal is around 20-30, higher is concerning. Neko got to the point where her heart couldn't handle fluids anymore. Her RR was higher as a result. And she went off her food. Of course she was diagnosed with GI issues at the same time, just to make it more complicated.

I had a really hard time getting a BP done with Neko too. Two epics fails at regular vet clinics with very high numbers due to stress. The dental vet and specialist vet clinic (internal medicine and cardiologist there) had much more consistent readings and normal numbers.

He's been on a 1/4 tab of Amlodpine for 3 yrs with no problem eating.

Oh my gosh. Poor baby does need to get to the vet and I see that you are having a hard time getting in to a vet? Is it really impossible to get into a vet? I am so sorry? You don't have a regular vet who prescribed the meds that he is on? I'm so sorry to say this, but I really do think he needs to see a vet. Is there any vet within an hours drive who could see him?

I did check & his breathing appears normal. He only gets 50 units of Ringers.

Good news on the breathing. Neko got Ringers every other day (less than Ravan) and that was too much.

Thanks for telling me that. I know some people here give Ringers 100 units every day. I always wondered if that was a good idea.

Did Neko have underlying Heart problems or did the Ringers alone cause the heart problem?

Sometimes I skip the Ringers but he does seem to feel better when I give it. My other cat Alice gets very dehydrated & I think she would benefit from it once in a while but like I said she really gets stressed out so I stopped trying with her.
I believe that the stress can kill them even faster than not giving meds.

As of last night Ravan is back to eating on his own. I'll continue to give him Slippery Elm once in a while. I read it can heal some problems. And it's nutritional when they don't eat.

Did Neko have underlying Heart problems or did the Ringers alone cause the heart problem?

She had mild HCM, but that wasn't the heart issue that caused the problem. She had also had an echocardiogram 5 months before hand and given the all clear. Because of her acromegaly, she had other heart issues appear, and apparently fairly quickly and sent her into heart failure when she got fluids.
