6/19 Meadow's AMPS 215 Question about flea stuff

Yay! We got a 144 at the +5 hour mark. :)

I have a question regarding Advantage. Anyone know if this affects BG's at all? My cats go outside in a safe enclosure and although it is built up off the ground, I found a flea on Meadow this morning. I usually put Advanatge on them during the summer months, but haven't so far this year. Will it hurt Meadow if I put it on her?

Hope this day is finding you all well.

So, it seems like we are off to a good start...in the yellow. I was able to take a +11 reading this morning and got a 211. An hour later, we did the AMPS reading and got 215. Then she had breakfast and got 1u. At +3 she is 263. Not bad considering she had breakfast 3 hours ago. She is really really not happy about me pricking her ears today though. :(
Will be at my granddaughter's ballet recital and then dinner later today and you can bet there will be no dry food available for hubby to sneak her! ;)

Sure sounds like you have a full day planned for yourself. :mrgreen: Hope there will be some time for relaxing!!!

Say, I was looking at your spreadsheet. Noticed you are adding in comments section that 'pred is on board'. Sometimes noting you are giving in pm. One thing you could do, as you try to figure out how much it is affecting Meadow would be to note it in the +hr you give. Say you give it @ +2....click on the +2 box, as if you are about to put in a BG number, go to the top (or right click, too) and click 'insert', then comments. A small box will appear and you can type in - "pred 5mg" (or however much you give). It might be easier to track if there is any rise a few hours later...or if there is not.

Good morning. I saw you condo yesterday after DH gave her some dry. Amazing how it can change the BG's right? She seems to have cleared the dry out of her system though. Pretty yellow for today. Enjoy the recital and have a great Caturday!! :mrgreen:

Oh wow, Carol;yn, thank you for that tip on the SS! I had no idea I could put a comment with each box. I was trying to sum up the day in the last coment box on each line and found that if I added something in the morning and went back later at night to add something, it would erase the whole thing and I had to type it all over again. Now that I know about the insert function, I can easily add comments and keep things up to date. Thanks!

FYI, Meadow always gets her Theophylline and Pred at dinner time so I can be sure the pills are washed down with food. So that would every evening right around dinner/shot time. But the pred is every other day and the theo is once a day.

Thank you Pat and Paige! I am about to leave for the recital but wanted to just update the SS and take one more BG reading before I left. Canned food is out & ready for hubby to feed Meadow a snack about 2pm-3pm. We just got a 144 on the bg! Yay! :)
