viewtopic.php?f=9&t=17459 Well here we go again at+12 Trey was 309.6BG. 2units at +1.2S AMPS(7:15am) so we tested,shot and fed well he was eating as we shot.DH is being really good in helping :o today will be +3 +6 and so on back later LOL Kath

Good morning Kath,
So it's looking like your confidence is rubbing off and DH is making a good team player taking care of Trey. You must feel good about that because lots of others aren't as fortunate to have support at home.

Good luck on your testing today; I am sure you will see more on what's happening with Trey today.

Hi guess we should try the +5 seems like that could be his low as he is moving up He is 284 @+6 PMPS does this look right if so I think I finally got it the ++I mean :roll: :idea:

thats actually AMPS +6/284... and you're +1 is one hour after AMPS shot..its ok,
I'm very curious about tonights PMPS thou -
you're coming up to 15 cycles on 2u, keep it up!
Post your PMPS(+12) first
test, shoot, feed .... unless if you're not sure about what you get - post the number first!

AMPS +6/284, is how it should read in your title line

you're still in the AMPS (morning cycle) you're PMPS (evening cycle)is coming up later, always post AMPS +hour you took daytime cycle test or PMPS + same

OK let me get this right the frist 12 hours are AMPS and the second are PMPS we run in 12 hours cycles is this right LOL confused_cat @-) :mrgreen:

amps means what is your test result in the am - pre-shot number.
If you give Trey his shot at 7am, the test you do just before that shot, at say 658am, that's your am PreShot.

The same applies for your evening shot. You test Trey at 658pm and then give Trey his shot at 7pm. That test you took at 658pm is your pm PreShot.

Now, you are doing a curve and you test Treat at 900pm - that is your +2 because it is 2 hours after you gave Trey his shot.

If you tested Trey at 7pm and he was low or you did not know what dose to shoot, you may have posted here to ask. You finally go ahead and test again at 8pm and go ahead with Trey's shot. Your +1 will be at 9pm, 1 hour after you gave Trey his shot.

It gets confusing when shots are delayed; if you look at my ss for Oliver, you will see sometimes I show a +13 and +14. Those numbers represent how many hours after the last shot given. So if I gave a shot at 6pm and then at 6am, Oliver was too low, I kept testing and adding hours.
If I finally shoot at +14 or 8am, that's when I restart my clock. If I test him again at 9am, that is his +1 because I gave him his shot 1 hour earlier, at 8am.

And now, I bet you are more confused!

The important thing to remember is that when you give the shot, that is hour zero. One hour after the shot time is your +1.

Ok think I am getting it . Trey had his test at 7:00PM he is 275BG so we gave him 2 units will test again at +2 which will be 9PM here. I really am dumb with this but think I am getting it . It don`t matter how many hours if it is 12-13 after the shot it is +1 the first hour always after the shot.. Right and we count how long inbetween 12 hours we continue on 13, 14 etc. till we do another shot .... ~O) :mrgreen:

You just reminded me of when I first came here -- there is a lot to learn and back then there wasn't half as much lingo to learn. Hope you have a nice PM cycle.

Now... I'm confused! :shock:

AMPS (start at zero... morning shot)
in theory AMPS +12 = PMPS
PMPS (starts at zero again.. evening shot)
again, in theory, PMPS + 12 = next day AMPS.

Clock in lantus works on 12 hours, if you say +13 means that it's been 13 hours since your last shot.... make sense?

YES! You're catching on the the timing!! The clock always starts after you shoot. There are 2 cycles per day -- AM and PM each starting with your test and shot (AMPS and PMPS). Don't feel badly -- my vet couldn't figure it out without my explaining!
 
Tested at +5 @ 266 we had a very yellow day !!!! Is this good never moved much all day . What happens now do we still go with 2 units in the AM will check back before we shot at 7am LOL Kath
