Good Morning LL!!!
(YUPP! That many, hike recovery mode. ELSA! HELP!!!), and Happy Tuesday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, Lil Bit, kitteh barista!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! Lola and Bug are back on duty, having survived their first OTJ party! They were so honored to have Rusty include their specialties on the menu. I uhhhhhh sure hope it doesn't go to their heads.... Nah, all is good! They celebrated by making a mess in the kitchen, resurrecting Ollie's sponges and surfin' on the flour covered floor.... what's a mess! OLIVER! They need retraining on the proper way to slide on those sponges. Lola is cheering real well, but Bug keeps falling off of the sponges.... so. well. anyways. onwards!
time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and triple shot espressos, with beans from Starbucks Pike Place Market, their original blend, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a venti quad peppermint white chocolate mocha, with peppermint infused whip, garnished with peppermint candy chips and white chocolate shavings... and no worries! an Ice cream dollop included: peppermint and vanilla and chocolate ice cream swirl on a fudge base. YUMMMMMMMM!!! I am making this today because it was Mannie's fav one, the very first brew he made as a kitteh barista. I can't believe that its been two months since he traveled to the bridge. I miss you Mannie....
What a bittersweet day..... Two months ago, on this date Mannie made his final journey. It is as fresh today as it was on April 18th. I can still see his face, hear those purrs he made that day, see his fur shining in the sun. I can still see him rearranging all those nanners, day in and day out. I can still see him and Nicholas sharing lunch. I can still see his face when he told me two months ago that it was time to say good bye, see him close his eyes and relax when I told him I would be there for him. And so I was. Forever in my heart Mannie. I miss you so!
For old times sake, here are a few photos:
Yesterday was an incredible day for me. The hikes were gorgeous, and I loved every minute I was out there. I do regret all the condos I didn't get to visit, and do so hope that all ailing kitties are better today. I thought of you all as I sat on the edge of those rivers and watched them flow with such ferocity: kinda like our kitties: wild, gorgeous, and full of life. This is what I wrote last night about my adventure: "I survived my adventure today, just got home. wow, and what a day today. I did do three short hikes, and explored some on the mountain loop hwy as I made my way through it all. What a drive. Even if I hadn't done the hikes, the drive alone would have been worth the time. The Sauk River and the Stillaguamish River were GORGEOUS!!!! I started in Darrington and ended up in Granite Falls, drove the whole damn thing, up through Barlow Pass etc, a total of 60 miles of gorgeousness. I loved it. made my day so to speak. Hikes ere good too, all short ones but nice to be able to spread them out some. All totaled: 14.5 miles on the legs today, climbed maybe 1000 feet total. Robe canyon was incredible. The Stillaguaish shoots through there, hike follows an old RR track. Not much left of the RR and rock slides have taken their toll. It would be so nice is somewhere along the line someone found the $$ to fix the trail so one can get pass the huge slides that have wiped out that trail. I can only wonder what splendors lie beyond.... tunnels I hear. River was so fast there today. I also visited the Big Four ice Caves at the base of the mountains there. No ice caves yet, as the snows have just started to melt. Mountains were awesome. I will post the Picassa links in tomorrow's Loose Lips. I can't wait for you guys to see these places!" so.... as promised: PHOTOS!: Mountain Loop Highway, Sauk River Trail, Robe Canyon and last but not least Big Four Ice Caves
All is well with the Three Musketeers. it is awfully quiet here this morning... which could only mean trouble.... Best see what is up with that!
Have a great day everyone! Bug has a vetty appt this morning to check on his ears. Paws crossed that the medicine has helped with the blockage (excessive ear wax). If not, then he will be mildly sedated so that the vet can manually removed it. If so, then she will also do a "quickie dental" too to remove the easy to do minimal tartar that he has. Fun day for Bug! I will be off to Seattle this afternoon to visit with a friend over a cup of coffee. YAY! I get to be social!
KITTIES!: Think BLUE!!, Think GREEN!!
