Good Morning LL!!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (YUPP! That many, hike recovery mode. ELSA! HELP!!!), and Happy Tuesday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, Lil Bit, kitteh barista!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! Lola and Bug are back on duty, having survived their first OTJ party! They were so honored to have Rusty include their specialties on the menu. I uhhhhhh sure hope it doesn't go to their heads.... Nah, all is good! They celebrated by making a mess in the kitchen, resurrecting Ollie's sponges and surfin' on the flour covered floor.... what's a mess! OLIVER! They need retraining on the proper way to slide on those sponges. Lola is cheering real well, but Bug keeps falling off of the sponges.... so. well. anyways. onwards! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and triple shot espressos, with beans from Starbucks Pike Place Market, their original blend, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a venti quad peppermint white chocolate mocha, with peppermint infused whip, garnished with peppermint candy chips and white chocolate shavings... and no worries! an Ice cream dollop included: peppermint and vanilla and chocolate ice cream swirl on a fudge base. YUMMMMMMMM!!! I am making this today because it was Mannie's fav one, the very first brew he made as a kitteh barista. I can't believe that its been two months since he traveled to the bridge. I miss you Mannie....

What a bittersweet day..... Two months ago, on this date Mannie made his final journey. It is as fresh today as it was on April 18th. I can still see his face, hear those purrs he made that day, see his fur shining in the sun. I can still see him rearranging all those nanners, day in and day out. I can still see him and Nicholas sharing lunch. I can still see his face when he told me two months ago that it was time to say good bye, see him close his eyes and relax when I told him I would be there for him. And so I was. Forever in my heart Mannie. I miss you so!
For old times sake, here are a few photos:

Yesterday was an incredible day for me. The hikes were gorgeous, and I loved every minute I was out there. I do regret all the condos I didn't get to visit, and do so hope that all ailing kitties are better today. I thought of you all as I sat on the edge of those rivers and watched them flow with such ferocity: kinda like our kitties: wild, gorgeous, and full of life. This is what I wrote last night about my adventure: "I survived my adventure today, just got home. wow, and what a day today. I did do three short hikes, and explored some on the mountain loop hwy as I made my way through it all. What a drive. Even if I hadn't done the hikes, the drive alone would have been worth the time. The Sauk River and the Stillaguamish River were GORGEOUS!!!! I started in Darrington and ended up in Granite Falls, drove the whole damn thing, up through Barlow Pass etc, a total of 60 miles of gorgeousness. I loved it. made my day so to speak. Hikes ere good too, all short ones but nice to be able to spread them out some. All totaled: 14.5 miles on the legs today, climbed maybe 1000 feet total. Robe canyon was incredible. The Stillaguaish shoots through there, hike follows an old RR track. Not much left of the RR and rock slides have taken their toll. It would be so nice is somewhere along the line someone found the $$ to fix the trail so one can get pass the huge slides that have wiped out that trail. I can only wonder what splendors lie beyond.... tunnels I hear. River was so fast there today. I also visited the Big Four ice Caves at the base of the mountains there. No ice caves yet, as the snows have just started to melt. Mountains were awesome. I will post the Picassa links in tomorrow's Loose Lips. I can't wait for you guys to see these places!" so.... as promised: PHOTOS!: Mountain Loop Highway, Sauk River Trail, Robe Canyon and last but not least Big Four Ice Caves

All is well with the Three Musketeers. it is awfully quiet here this morning... which could only mean trouble.... Best see what is up with that!

Have a great day everyone! Bug has a vetty appt this morning to check on his ears. Paws crossed that the medicine has helped with the blockage (excessive ear wax). If not, then he will be mildly sedated so that the vet can manually removed it. If so, then she will also do a "quickie dental" too to remove the easy to do minimal tartar that he has. Fun day for Bug! I will be off to Seattle this afternoon to visit with a friend over a cup of coffee. YAY! I get to be social!

KITTIES!: Think BLUE!!, Think GREEN!!

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

Morning Michelle, ~O) ~O) wow what a great condo today with the three hikes and all the beautiful places you visited and hiked. Tou really did great with the timing and seeing all three places and hiking. The pics are awesome! Were those patches of ice on the Big 4 caves? Sounds like you had a really great time and good timing.
Oh my, is it two months that Mannie crossed the Bridge. it is bittersweet seeing him so regal with his nanners and that pom pom tail! Mags always loved his tail. :-D I think of him often
Sending good Vetty vines for Lola. Does she get very scared at the Vet? I hope all goes well. We'll get KTSS to visit, and Mags will b :-D ing some of her special rose scented lotion to help with massages.
Elsa, mega thanks for the extra coffee, I'm glad I caught you just before I headed out for a walk.

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

Wow, wasn't expecting that when I opened today's condo. Brought tears to my eyes (can't cry - put on make up and have to go out in a minute - can't cry).

Maybe you will get a special message from Sir Mannie today, just because you need it! Will write more later....gotta blot my eyes now.....

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

Lovely to see your condo Michelle! Thanks for sharing those beautiful breathtaking pic. We never have these sights in the city. Glad that you are enjoying the hike.

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

Hi Michelle. I really enjoyed your condo today. What great memories you have of Mannie. You were both so fortunate to have each other and create that special connection.

Your hikes sound so awesome. Glad you were able to "drive the whole damn thing" and experience that as well.
Once again your pictures are wonderful.

Have a grat day Michelle.

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

Morning everyone! and more ~O) ~O) ~O) ! always more ~O) ~O) ~O)

Bug had to stay at the vets. That darn ball of hardened wax and not budged.... BUMMER! The vet will mildly sedate him so that she can remove it, before we really have problems. She will also chip away at some of the tartar on his teeth, without a full blown dental. Perhaps that will delay an immediate need in the near future. and.... I still need to schedule that cardio workup for him. UGH. Bug, dude, no more medial procedures, 'K? ;-)

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) THX on the photos. It was so incredible beautiful up there, and I am ever so glad I went. And yes: ice and snow on the caves - they form later in the summer at the bottom of the mountains. What is so cool about this place is that you can hike (and an easy hike too!) up to the base of those caves, right under the face of the mountain. It is rather impressive. -- yupp, 2 months for Mannie. wow, seems like yesterday. I liked those two pics - especially his bum. Always loved the coloring, his lack of a tail, way too cute,. I can still see him twirling it in circles.  Well - Big doesn't normally get scared there, but today he was trembling a little bit, so maybe? I dunno... I felt bad that he had to stay the day.... poor guy! He says thanks for the KTSS!
Auntie Ann - me too! I was so afraid I would miss you!!~~ Elsa, Lil BIT, kitteh barista

Hi Hilary ~O) ~O) ~O) I know.... made me teary eyed to write it. two months today... so sorry on teh eye blotting! ;-) I have done some of that too. I thinks so on the sign, I have been trying to get Mannie's un-used 5 pen supply of insulin to a friend ere who wants it. Been two months and we have not been able to connect. This morning out of the blue she writes and says she can take it today, wants to pay full price, wants the syringes and the lancets, of which I had tons, I had just restocked when Mannie crossed, so.... Thank you Mannie! That and the sunbeams that have shined through a very cloudy morning,. He has remembered... :-D

Hi Helen ~O) ~O) ~O) awesome to hear from you! I hope all is well with Rosy! THX on the pics - I am so glad that you enjoyed them! It is beautiful country there.

Hi Sienne ~O) ~O) ~O) I now.... me neither. Sometimes I don't know where the times goes... but I do feel his presence, every day. He had such a presence here.

Hi John ~O) ~O) ~O) Thank you so much. I feel blessed to have had the privilege of caring for him. He truly was one heckuva cat. THX on the pics, and the drive: the whole damn thing   it seemed a fitting description of it: gorgeous, but a road full of potholes, gravel, and precarious sides (ie:plunging cliffs) to the road. :?  THX too n the day - I will do just that! :-D

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

Bug is home from the vet, no worse for wear. The hardened ear wax portion that they pulled out of his ear was on the rather large size. I have to laugh: my vet saved a portion of it for me so I could see. Sent it home with me too. ;-)  WOOT! We have a vetty souvenir. Bug has eaten a little, and is now trying to decide if I am evil arch enemy #1 for taking him to that awful place. Ah Bug... sorry little guy, but you are home now, and all is well.

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

Eww, on the ear wax thingy. Just ewwww! Hope he feels (hears?) better now.

And I'm sending you some warm hugs as you remember sweet Mannie. ((((((((Michelle)))))))))
He was such a wonderful kitty. Thank you for letting me 'play' with his photos too.
I will always remember the Nanner King with fondness. sniff.... something is in my eyes....

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

I shall always remember all the photos - you were amazing, and I saved them all. I think I shall attach my personal favorite. i so know on the something in my eye.... been there all day.

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

Michelle, I can't believe it has been 2 months. I hope your memories of Mannie bring you comfort today. Your condos made me realize what a special kitty he was.

I'm glad Bug is back home and all went well at the vetty. I'm sure he'll feel much better now.

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

Hi, Michelle, I read your first post early this morning, but didn't know what to say ~ Mannie's crossing still feels a little raw. I can't believe it's been 2 whole months already. Miss ya, big guy.

BUT... (sniff sniff)
JUST LOOK at the AMAZING additions in your life! And I'm not just talking' 'bout furry ones. Of course, new additions in your life also means new ones in OUR lives. Lola and Bug, and baby William... (major happy sighs!)
Cheers to you, (((Michelle))), well, for everything!

PS: Ummmmm, what on earth are you supposed to do with a ball of ear wax:?: :?: :?:

Scritches to your 3 musketeers!

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

Hi Carla - I know, me neither! and thanks, they have all been ahppy thoughts today. no sadness. I do miss him alot, but know too that he's happy well and healthy where he is now. That alone is such a wonderful thought. Many many thanks on the condos. THX too on Bug, we are ding great tonight, he's forgotten ( I think :? ) that he even went. :-D

Hi Josie - hey - it's ok. There are days when it is that way for me too: a little raw. Sometimes I think he somehow is attuned to that, a I always seem to get these sunbeams then. To this day a very intuitive kitty. But today has been good too: the thoughts are happy ones, memories are endless and all good ones. Hard to believe thought that it has been two months. -- and RIGHT YOU ARE! All these new beginnings here - love that part alot, major fun! --- AND    on that ball of ear wax. It's sitting here on my computer desk in this cute little green bottle. what will I do with that?    I will pass on those scritches!!!

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

(((Michelle))) ... I can't believe it has been 2 months, wow! I know how much you miss him, it was easy to see what a special kitty he was and his legend lives on. I'm glad you have been remembering the good times.

That is yucky about the wax thing, and the vet sending you home with it... But kind of fascinating too. I had a drooler with a waxy ear problem, and one day a hard "plug" of wax came out when he shook his head. It was gross, but I had to check it out before tossing it  I'm told that's what good moms do,

Have a good night,
Kathie

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

HI Kathie, and many thanks! Yupp, the memories have all been good today. Smiles too. -- and I know on that ear wax thing. ewwww.... but I took it home. I guess that too is what good moms do.

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

Hard to believe its been two months. ((((Michelle)))) What a two months it has been too, with three new additions to your wonderful family. It's all good. Mannie said so. The hikes sound beautiful.

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

Wow, two months already. Time moves so quickly these days. I love those Mannie pics...what a cute butt!!!

Poor li'l Bug. I hope he's feeling better ASAP. Yikes in the vetty souvenir...I think I would have had to pass on that one :? ! No more procedures...here that, all of you three little furbombs????

Have a great evening, Michelle!

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

Wow, such beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing! I have relatives who live outside of Portland and I wish we could get out there more. It is just so beautiful in that part of the country. And I've been gone so I'm just learning about Manny. So sorry, he was a beauty! Oh yeah, and he has a nice butt

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

Hi Michelle,
Your remembrances of Mannie--that wonderful cool cat  --bring tears to my eyes tonight. It surely doesn't seem like 2 months, and yet it seems ages ago that he arrived at the Bridge. We all miss him, but we know that all we have to do is think of him and remember all the good times and then it seems like he is right there in the room. We love you, Mannie!

I'm looking forward to seeing tomorrow the pics of your marvelous hike. Just collapsed tonight when we got home. Glad that Bug is OK. The ear wax sounds neat. I had a hard "bean" in my nasal passages once that came out in a sneeze. It was really interesting: I cut it in half to see what it was made of!!! Perhaps your vet thought you might like to do something similar

Have a good night. See you tomorrow,

Hugs, scritches, and special scritches for Mannie,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

Hard to believe it's been two months since Mannie went to the Bridge. I think there must be some powerful pollens in the air today - a lot of teary eyes here. I so agree on the sunshine. I contribute our better spring into summer to Mannie's influence. And I heartily agree on that cute butt photo!!

Gorgeous photos of the hike - that was quite the distance yesterday. I like how salmonberries kept on sneaking into the photos.

I hope Bug has forgiven you for now and feels much better. And Ewww on the ear wax!

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

HI Everyone! Thanks to all who visited today, and for the sharing of good memories. It all brings a smile to my face.

Hi Melissa - You are right - it has been one heckuva two months. Three new additions. wonderful additions. I remember writing in one of Mannie's condos, just before he passed, that all was normal, cool, acceptable to him, things were good in his opinion. I remember then writing it was true because Mannie said so. Somehow that phrase really stuck, and I think holds true for so much of what I did, we all do when we care for our kitties. all is well because they said so. I know Mannie did. All continues to be well. Life is good. Mannie said so. THX too on the pics. amazing how many of those I have... those two tough - some of my favs.

Hi Amy - I know on Bug. Tonight he is so full of energy, just one very happy kitty, it makes me wonder if maybe that ear was bothering him some, and now he does feel better. Sure is one affectionate kitty tonight. lolo on the souvenir.... kinda weird, but kinda cool too.  I SO AGREE ON THIS (!!!):
No more procedures...here that, all of you three little furbombs????

Hi Pam - THX for the visit! And THX too on the pics.I hope you can come and visit those relatives - it is incredible over here, scenery wise. I hope someday to be able to go to Oregon - sure is lot there to see too. Many thanks also on Mannie. LOL: I always loved that butt shot.

MJ - ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - THANK YOU! I so love that sunglasses photo. and the nanner one! That one has just really made me laugh - what a great great photo, it is SO MANNIE! I still remember the days when he would defend that stash - NO ONE was ever allowed near the nanners. Mannie's, and Mannie's alone. :-D :-D Thanks for posting those.

Hi Ella - ah heck huh. a few eye dribbles this morning for me too. All those images I wrote about, all still as if they were of the moment. Odd isn't it how it seems like just yesterday, yet also like it has been ages ago. You are so right on all you wrote. I hope you enjoy the photos when you have time to look,. per the norm there are way too many. Everything presented an image that I liked so took a photo. I had to laugh: when I got home and uploaded them off the camera I discovered that I had taken 688!   That is so so me. -- LOL on the ear wax. It was kinda cool to look at. Just this dried hunk of stuff...waxy stuff. I am sure you are right on the vet, She had to show me: "Look at this - amazing that all this was in his ear." She broke it in half as we spoke so I could see. And then she wrapped it up, put it in a bottle for me and off I went, kitty and ear wax in tow.  THX too - I will make sure Mannie knows there are scritches waiting for him.

Re: 6/18 LOOSE LIPS: a day on the river... plus 2 months ago

Hi Wendy - I missed your post! or we posted at the same time... I think you are right on the pollens - *sniff* *sniff* THX on all, sunshine and cute butts. I did love that butt. Hey THX on the photos, and yes on the distance. It was all spit into three hikes, but still alot of yardage. I did feel that on the last hike I did. LOL too on those salmonberries - had to do those! Nicholas's mom and dad will show him the photos, so the berries were for him. indeed! And yes on Bug - he has forgiven me, very cuddly tonight. :-D
