Starting to think that maybe I should have held the dose to see what she was going to do with the 189 at AMPS this morning. She probably needed the increase anyway. We will see what happens at +2.

AMPS: 189, fed 1 oz l/c
+1: fed 1 tsp l/c
+2: 100, fed 1 tsp l/c
+3: 85, fed 1 tsp l/c
+4: 83m fed 1 tsp l/c
+5: 84
+6: 99, fed 1 oz l/c (final am cycle food)
+8: 182
+10: 255
PMPS: 285, Fed 1 oz l/c
+2: leaving 1 oz l/c
+5: leaving 1 oz l/c

Last night was very strange. A 186 at +4.2 and a 243 @7.5 and then a 189 at AMPS this morning. Almost like she "double dipped".

Good luck with the increase! Do you feed at PS and +1 to reduce the dive at +2?

Summer, if you want to quote someone's post from a previous condo, just go to that condo, and press reply on the post you want to quote, copy the text that appears (It will start and end with QUOTE) and paste it in the current condo.

I fed 1 oz of l/c at AMPS. I don't normally feed at +1 or +2. Maybe I should test at +1 to see what she is doing. Wasn't going to test again until +2 but will get a +1. Aren't they usually pretty food influenced when you feed at the PS?

What if her number was going to go up at +2. Wouldn't i
Sometimes, when they are clearing a bounce they can be lower or flat at +1 despite food at PS. However, they can be higher at +1 and still clear the bounce/have an active cycle.
Ok, I'll test and give her a tsp of l/c at +1. I guess my thinking is that sometimes she will go up at +2 and extra food might make it worse. I'll follow your plan, though.

Sorry for the delay. Her l/c is the FF chicken (3%). I have the FF Medleys White Meat Chicken Florentine with Cheese & Garden Greens Pate that I had labeled at 4% but I believe that is incorrect. I don't see this specific Medley Florentine (with cheese and garden greens) on the food chart. The other m/c I have is 15%. I'll see what I can find out about the Medley Florentine.

Thank you. I was wondering how everyone did this.

She is at 85 at +3 so she is slowing down. I don't think she needs m/c so I'll go ahead and give her another tsp of l/c. I have to get some vacuuming done so will be away from the computer but will periodically check back for any additional information. Then, I will test again at +4. Thanks for you help!

According to this list, FF Medleys Florentine White Meat Chicken in a Delicate Sauce is 13% carb. Not sure if this is the same one you have. Nice green, Susie! :D
I don't think it is the same one. It doesn't say "delicate sauce". It says with "cheese & garden greens". Full name is Fancy Feast Medleys White Meat Chicken Florentine with Cheese & Garden Greens Pate. It is the cheese part which leads me to believe it is higher than low carb. I have been referring to that Balance It site when I can't find the carbs. I hope that isn't a mistake.

Beautiful surf! :)
Bhooma, I have a question. I usually give Susie the last 1 oz of her am cycle food at +6. She gets 3 ounces in the am and 3 ounces in the pm cycle. I don't want to jeopardize the progress she has been making and yet I don't want to deny her that final ounce of the daytime cycle. Can I go ahead and give her the full ounce at +6 (in 10 minutes) when I will test her again?

Those are some great numbers... My boy is also doing better today.

Sorry, I am just seeing this. Yes I think you can unless she is lower.

Hi Summer. I hope you are well. I haven't been able to check in with you for a few days. Sorry. I see Susie has had a good day (busy for you.) She really bounced back up to her AMPS this afternoon, didn't she? Really a bounce? Or too much food? What do you think?

I don't know, Suzanne. I don't think it is a bounce - yet. I was just thinking about this same thing earlier today. Maybe not so much yesterday but it seems like she has been shooting up quickly in the the afternoons for a while now. I'm actually wondering if it isn't the duration of the Lantus but someone mentioned the other day that it is not the duration of the insulin but the fact that kitty needs more insulin. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the food because she has been getting 1 ounce of l/c at +6 for as long as I can remember.

I'm a little worried about the increase this morning. The numbers this morning, at least her AMPS, were actually a reflection of the 2.5 increase three days ago and now I have increased again (at AMPS today). Just hoping she doesn't drop too much now. I'm sure I am going to see a bounce tonight.

I have missed seeing post from you. I hope everything is okay. Will you be posting today?

Yes. I just posted. I worry about Susie too... because she just seems to get to a certain dose (like where you are now) and then she just drops really low... it has happened before... but you are there for her. At least if she bounces you can sleep.

Yes, I am all for dealing with the drops during daytime and sleeping at night. Will look at your post. Good to hear from you.

Will propose this question in my AM thread tomorrow. Why is Susie shooting up every afternoon? She did not do this prior to around June 5th. I'm thinking the duration of the insulin is not lasting as long as it should be. Am wondering if I need to try Levemir. Lots of questions regarding these big increases in the afternoons. She has had three increases since 6/6. Could it be that the Lantus is losing duration for her?
