Ok - that's a respectable number.

She ate nearly all of her breakfast - over 1 Tbsp gone without me even bugging her, and then nearly another one done with chicken dust in no time flat. She wandered away when just a tiny nibble was left and I figured I'd give her 2nd breakfast in an hour or so anyway, so she was good.

Blue ate bf #1 and #2 and is lying in what looks like an incredibly uncomfortable position on his side with his head hanging off his bed and kind of pressed up to the side of the cage... Paws sticking out of the cage. But when I see him he looks at me and blinks sleepily, so maybe it's not as uncomfortable as it looks. He was doing some strange positions yesterday too - at one point he was lying with his face against the bars of the cage (ok, they're not exactly bars like old-time zoos or anything) and his chin, of all things, was sticking out of the cage. And his paws - his front paws usually stick out and sometimes one is curled around the cage bars like he's holding on...

I am really tired and hoping to make it till the weekend...

Ok - going to clean litter and hopefully head off to work...

Re: 6/17 Kasha AMPS 217

It's a sunny morning at Kasha's house!

Blue sounds like he's just fine, cats can sleep in any position. How long before he's sprung from the cage?

this is a great number to start the day out with! Sunny yellow and so close to blue! Sounds like your kitties are happy and content this morning. What more could they ask for?

Oh - don't even ask that question... My kitties are very demanding - LOL...

Today - this afternoon, technically - will be Day 10 since Blue's surgery. We have a follow-up appointment with the surgeon on the 28th, so Blue has at least 11 more days in the cage (which will be 3 weeks total). He was out last night for a while, but while he dozed near me for a little bit, he wanted to explore. So, I followed him around for a while - he was a little too active and I had to keep an eye on him (NO jumping!!!!). Finally BF called and I couldn't watch Blue and talk on the phone at the same time, so Blue went back in the cage (perhaps I made the wrong choice on that one). He willingly goes into the cage - it's like his safe place. The surgeon was adamant about his being in the cage AND wearing the E collar for the full 3 weeks. And if you heard the sound of Blue's rough little sandpaper tongue grooming the E collar, you would probably agree that tongue should go nowhere NEAR the incision!!!

When Blue was out hopping around - Kasha was just watching him from a few feet away. I don't know what's wrong with her - I really expected her to take this badly and react very negatively to him - she doesn't like change. I woke up this morning and she wasn't on the bed with me anymore - found her on the papasan cushion near Blue's cage, facing him. She spent nearly 14 years trying to ignore him and now she's hanging out keeping an eye on him. Strangeness.

Gotta give her credit for squeaking in under the reds.

Bounce - she was 80 when I checked on her just before +6. She'd also already eaten a TON of food, which makes me think she dropped lower. Some of the food was the 9% (or so) carb food that I put out just because I was worried a little about her. But she finished all of the low carb as well (think her net carb intake was probably 7.5% - lol). She doesn't usually finish all the food like that unless she starts to drop low. Wish I knew how low. I have to say, work is really interfering with checking for possible dosecrease opportunities!!!

She's been doing this thing where she tries to run away from me when she thinks I'm going to grab her for a shot or ear prick. But, it's not a serious attempt - she just moves very quickly under the papasan chair or onto the papasan cushion (which are in 2 different rooms right now since the cushion is by Blue). And then she stops just within my reach so I can still get to her and do whatever needs to be done. But today - she moved SO FAST - like a little (ok, maybe not so little) furry bug! Very cute. Although, come to think of it - if I did see a furry bug her size, it wouldn't be cute at all...

Ok - I made some rice krispie treats because I was craving them for some reason. And I had to have them the way my mom makes them - which involves putting some honey into the marshmallows and it just gives it a flavor that is so yummy... This may be my dinner...

Seriously - she bounces any more and we can take this act on the road and charge for tickets...
