Had to call vet this morning to double check compounding liquid for Cabergoline didn't have sweeteners (techs have given him regular old high carb treats before not thinking) thankfully they have it flagged to not use the sweetened/sugared one.

Also have an appointment for the dog today, I suspect some of her growths may come back cancerous...this week might be a double wallop between the two of them.

DH physically goes back to work end of July, and not quite sure what to do with Mr Kitty. They've been best buds in the basement this last year, it's better to keep him down there because he pees all over when numbers above 200. I don't want to banish him to the basement all alone but I CANNOT clean carpets and padding and subfloors the way I had to last year when he was diagnosed.

Strongly considered cat diapers (I know what has my life come to) but I feel that's a recipe for infection...and he hates baths.

My god, when it rains it pours :arghh: I'm sorry the past week has been a B and a half to you.

Have you tried maybe laying down some flat adult diapers? They're cheaper than actual pee pads.

When Olivia had her UTI and wasnt using the litter box, I put a few diapers down in her 'high traffic' spots, and she, surprisingly, used them. Or, used them more often than not.

Yep. The problem is he just goes to a not-pee-pad area. And the house is 90% carpet of course.

For now I'll just hope I can get and hold him in good numbers :bookworm: or at minimum bring him up to sleep with us

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about both Mr. Kitty and your pup. I hope they will both be okay. Hopefully, Mr. Kitty will be in better shape by the time your DH has to go back to work and you won't have to leave him in the basement. I appreciate you always helping me out when you are going through all of your own drama, Melissa. Prayers for better days ahead for all of you.

I read in an old, oooold thread someone suggesting using different litter and litter 'box' shape combos to kind of trick the cat into peeing where it needed to/not on the floor?

Like, if you normally use clay litter in a rectangular box, put pine pellets or sand in a circular 'box'. Or just set out a pot used for plants, with garden soil (sans plant of course)

Hope you manage to get his numbers wrangled regardless

That's a really good idea! He really only goes for corners for the most part which makes it a little easier to narrow down

Thank you Summer :bighug:

Lol, just peeked at your ss -- the accusatory look on him!

"Dont think I don't notice you looking at my mommy's spreadsheet and driving her nuts by switching it to 'view only'!"

LOL I was late on his food, turned around and there he was staring me down

Oy not good news for the dog. Malignant tumor, not sure if has metastasized have to do more tests. When it rains it pours.

@Wendy&Neko what are you thinking for dose tomorrow? PMPS in about an hour

I am so sorry to hear about your pup, Melissa. What is his name and his breed?
Her name is Pippi, she's rat terrier and beagle (body of a rat terrier, tricolor and appetite of a beagle). It's one of those things that you know is coming with old age, but especially bittersweet since she's been with me through college, marriage, and two kids. Hopefully all we have to do is remove it and she'll be ok for a little while, though that does mean radiation for Mr Kitty is now out of the picture.

With that 138 being on the low half of the blues, I'd be thinking 10 units tomorrow. On the other hand, I could make an argument for 10.5 units. At 10 unit we switch to 1 unit increments, and you are pretty much there.

Sorry to hear the news about your Pippi. :bighug:

We'll see how freaky I'm feeling in the morning I guess! There's still a pandemic, I'm still home all day, so he'll be safe.

I'm leaning towards 10.5, held for probably minimum of 8 cycles this time though, mostly because of (what I think is) the duration issue.

As always thank you so much for your help, I know you're in high demand here. We're getting close to a good dose (anti jinx) so should be easier from here.

I'm late getting on, been a busy day with other stuff. Maybe Mr. Kitty will hear the discussions about doses and make the decision easy for you.
