BTB didn't last very long - I couldn't go back to sleep, so got up to go to work...
I'm ok with Kasha's numbers today - I need a break, last night was too stressful, dropping to 34 @ +3.3 after being up at 4:28 am to clean up Blue... Long day - I feel better knowing that at least this morning she's unlikely to drop too low while I'm at work.. If we're going to go through the bounce cycle - I wish she'd bounce while I'm at work and then I can keep an eye on her numbers when she drops for her PM shot (lately bounces have been lasting around 1 cycle).
Blue update (thanks for asking): Let's see - this afternoon will be exactly 1 week since his surgery. The dark red marks around the area (bruising, I guess) have faded almost completely. He is using his "big boy" litter box (at least to pee, we've yet to have a successful, non-messy poop experience, although he did try). He is hopping on his back leg so well. I've had him out with me to cuddle on the papasan cushion I put next to the cage and he was hopping around this morning (he doesn't want to stay still!). That darn Elizabethan collar trips him up (literally), so he looks even more awkward than he really is. Last night he clearly was aiming to head to the kitchen, but I stopped him.
His appetite has been good. And by good, I mean that as soon as I approach the cage with a dish he gets all excited and practically dances around, tries to stick his face thru the cage until the food is under his nose. His last dose of pain meds was yesterday afternoon around 2pm (and that was hours late - I was trying to kind of stretch the meds out a little longer). We did a warm compress for 10 min this morning, and except for squirming every 20 seconds, he didn't seem to be in pain. Last dose of ABs was yesterday morning (so hopefully that liqui-poo thing might come to an end).
He purrs like a machine when you pet him. Happy purrs. And what's most surprising to me is how Kasha has been reacting. She hissed at him once early on, but lately, I find her sitting on the papasan cushion, curled up or watching him. Sometimes when I have him out, I realize she's curled up on the cushion with us. She's being very nice to him - in fact, nicer than she was before the surgery. She never really liked other cats, just tolerated them. So, her interest is kind of surprising.

Great report on Blue and on how Kasha is being attentive. I'm sure Blue smelled all wrong when he came back from the vet. I know what you mean about preferring to have action at night vs. in the AM cycle. The latter makes getting to work challenging!

Ok - this is either part of the bounce from last night or else she dropped too fast today and bounced again. Who knows? She ate approx 2 Tbsp dinner - so ok eating.
Guess what? Blue pooed. And NOT all over himself. Yay. He had some trouble balancing and squatting on one leg - I tried to stabilize him because I heard him scratching around and suspected it might be something more than pee. After he finished, he nearly sat in it, but somehow, somehow he didn't get anything on him and he hopped out to his bed. I cleaned his litter - everything looked normal (i.e. not liqui-poo nor poo-paste). Then I took him out to see if cleanup was necessary and it wasn't . Yippee.
