We seem to be staying the same most of the time.A little higher preshot this morning , but we have company in the house for a few days , he had to find a different sleeping spot so I am attributing this to stress. My question is , this dose brings him down to the 60's and sometimes 50's. , but we are still getting blue preshots. When our company leaves should we push him down a little farther with a fattened dose, or just be patient? We do get a little more sleep now , have not fed any hc for a while to bring him up from low numbers. So this seems to be a "safe" dose.Just wondering if we are doing the right thing by leaving things alone for now and being patient.

Just a little insight, if u click on my SS, just before trial was started, you'll see Luna had alot of blue preshots...it seemed to take forever to finally start seeing green preshots, the days dragged on, and it took every bit of patience for me to just hang on...and eventually, he broke into the greenies!

so in my opinion, patience, keep at it, you're both doing very well...and keep in mind, they say AMPS take the longest to change into greens.

Let's see what others suggest.

Thanks Ronnie. It is hard to be patient, but we will keep things as they are.His +5 was 54, so i fed lc.So it would be hard to add insulin or we would just be feeding hc at earlier hours.

I'd suggest dropping Jill a PM since I know she's been following your condo. The PMPS look fine. It's the AMPS that's a higher than I'd like. Ronnie's right -- the AMPS is often higher likely due to the dawn phenomenon (a normal release of cortisol in the AM). It may be a matter of just waiting for Brutus to down regulate but I'd like to have Jill (or Libby) take a look.

hi steve. do you have a timed feeder? reason why i'm asking is a mini-meal/snack fed at PM+9 could help pull that AMPS down, but it's a PITA for most people to get up at that hour (assuming normal AMPS time is early morning).

Hi Jill,

We do not have a timed feeder, but we could get one.+9 for us would be about 4:30 am.Often though, guess who is meowing around that time and sometimes we feed him anyway.so we will think about that .I fed at + 9 yesterday pm cycle and did not make a difference. But maybe i will order a timed feeder.Or does petco have them ? we live in a small town but we do have a petco.Hope you and alex are doing well and thanks for your help.

i really don't know if petco carries the timed feeders or not. give them a call. they might.
if you do get a timed feeder and you don't think feeding at PM+9 will help, try feeding at PM+8. we've seen quite a few kitties take 4 hours to pull their numbers down.

as far as adding a drop or two onto the dose... let's see where brutus is at after your house guests leave. it may not be necessary...

Just went thru Petco's site, they list the PetSafe 2-meal feeder..
one of the best ones is actually the PetSafe 5 meal feeder, and I know it's available thru online sites.
Petsmart use to have the best deal for that one and you can order online thru them too.
