sometimes they paw things out of the waste basket. But Mikey's not at all likely to do that. More likely, he's not used to all this good food, and is having a reaction, or well, the gagging leads me to think he's swallowed something. The onset was so incredibly swift. Like one hour just fine, the next lying on the rug excreting black crap and gagging. I've never seen anything that rapid before.

That's how FD goes. Just when you think you have it figured out, kitty throws you a curve! It could be a bounce, or reaction from all the honey and food. Did you want to try to get a couple hours of sleep now? I think it's safe.
Oh, god I'd love to.
I will. YEs, seems to be safe. Good grief.

So I test him around mmmm 6:30?
Sound right?
After a nice nap.

Yeah. Test at 6:30. I think you could leave a little food out if you think she might want it. LC.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mikey got sick from the richer food if you were sharing TiTi's HC.

So go to bed. I'm going to, now that I know TiTi is safe.:)

Hi, Gil,\
if you're still up. Been complicated with 2 at risk cats at same time

sHOT 1 HR LATE, AND NEW UNIT - 11
Titi's doing not bad not bad, In 3 hours only went from AMPS 215 to +3 177 - both values taken fasting.
Fed her friskies, should help.
Can I get away with measuring her in another 3-4 hours?

I ask because I have to go get cat food, me food, strips, and so on.

PS: Mikey's ok. Nasty infection, and xrays show he is limping because some kids shot him, twice, before he found me 8 years ago. Vet found a bb near his spine and a pellet near his hip. Has caused spinal fusion of 3 lower vertebrae. Poor guy must be hurting a lot. I dare any kid to do that to any animal when I'm around.

Hi Kathy it's probably less confusing if you start a new thread every morning at amps, rather than just editing the title and the first post of the thread.

Titi, seems to be dropping though not as fast as yesterday, the depot could still be in play. I would probably not leave it more than 1 or 2 hours to get a test (leaning towards the hour), the depot of the 13u could still make titi drop today.
I have messaged the HD kitty mums see what they think.

Glad Jack is OK poor little thing.

Kathy

Please keep an eye on Mikey's stools. If he is "excreting black crap" or having blac, tarry stools, he has a GI bleed. That is an emergency.

I'll second the request to start a new thread each morning.

So glad that Mikey is out of his crisis, but Marje's warning is a good one. Poor little guy.

On to the diabetic cat - Titi - Overall I think she's looking pretty good so far today. That's not too fast of a drop, but I'd just want to keep an eye on things. What a relief to see her out of those high numbers.

I think it's been about 1.5 hours since you posted last - if you haven't gotten another test yet, I'd grab another one so we can see how fast she's dropping now.

Hi there

Good work on yesterday's PM cycle and on this mornings dose. Well done!

Apologies for disappearing - I could not keep my eyes open after my shower much less be coherent. You were in good hands with Tricia and Gill.

I've been checking the ss for updates...(enquiring minds need to know;))

Absolutely. Forget keep an eye. I had him to the vet at 8am. He has a bad infection, the bleed has stopped, xrays show no problem. No masses palpitated, blood work show s high albumin, but no other accompanying signs, over the mountain white cells, and we may never know what happened. He is on antibiotics, anti inflamatories - cerenia, and supportive sub qs. Presently resting with still black stools to brown, but formed.

Meanwhile, I ualified for a new job, bought extra stris, foos, and checked TiTi's glucose. All well until last one. She is falling - very slowly, but still falling.

I go now to post thme in SS.

that is I qualified for the new job - had to take another test;bought extra strips, cat food, and etc.
Just checked Titi's glucose. +11 172. Drats. It looks like I just missed her nadir. Well, did my best in a very busy day.

I guess I should shoot 11 at 10:15 - PMPS. I shot an hour late at AMPS, so I carve out 15 minutes each cycle, until I am back to normal?

I see a +11/172 - up from a nadir of 115. Looks like a normal cycle to me - which is pretty awesome. Looks like you can stick with this dose for tonight. How is TiTi doing today?

Yes, I wouldn't go earlier than that tonight.

Yes I'd watch him closely and I hope he improves.

Congrats on the job and getting things done. TiTi has certainly turned around!!!

She's fantastic. Eating like a champ, peeing and drinking like a totally normal kitty. This is one tuff girl kitty. And she's patient and trusting about the lancing. purrs tight thru it.

Isn't it amazing? It seems like all she ever needs is the right care. I've had her since she was about 5 weeks old. Pulled her and her bros and sisters out of the insulation under a manufactured house; Then caught her mom, neutered her and kept her. She only comes out when very hungry, or when I sing to them. They love singing.

All of you are wonderful, you know.

Morning Kathy,

lovely am cycle, so great to hear that TiTi is feeling good and behaving well.

Sending continued vines for Mikey:bighug::bighug::bighug:
