Hi Everyone,

This morning I went to Plattsburgh to buy food and treats for Rusty. There were 4 roadblocks because of the escaped prisoners from Dannamora. Police were doing searches of all the car trunks, but since my car is an SUV and I had the seatbacks down (because of the canoeing stuff we carry), they could see inside easily and I got to proceed right away.

Rusty had a pretty good AMPS, but his +5.5 is about the same. Another unusual cycle seems to be unfolding.

Edward and I were just working on the "lawns". I decided to mow the tall grass next to our barn, but spied a tiny fawn lying in the grass, so immediately backed away and turned off the motor and left the area. Mama Deer has stashed her baby in a "safe" place so that she could go out and forage. The baby raised it's head and looked around, but soon put it's head down in the grass again. I hope nothing will disturb it. It is really tiny: about half the size of Rusty. We are thrilled that one of "our" deer family has had her fawn and apparently trusts us not to disturb it. We are keeping our distance.

bbl, going out for a short bike ride.

Hey Rusty!! Deputy LagoonMistress China reporting from the lagoon. It's been a good day...several kitties splashing around and having a good time. Max was getting a little too far out so I've called him in (hope he's listening!) The shore has been busy too, with lots of volleyball and sunbathers. Sure hope you make it down soon and go for a little swim of your own!

Wow...good thing you saw the little fawn!! That's so neat that mama deer trusts you enough to leave her fawn so close to "people".

Hope you had a good bike ride....too darn hot here for much of anything other than melting (it's over 90 again today and I think the humidity is about the same!...just plain oppressive outside)

How cool on the baby deer! I'm glad you saw it before it got scared. i was wondering how close that search was to you!

Rusty is OK! I's gots deep end duty today and the mermaids are keeping the sharks away from the kittehs! -- Tess

I'd let a baby hang out.... so neat to have one near like that. It's the old guys that keep killing my fruit trees....
My son tried and tried to get me to let him have a Muntjac.... I read up on them and even tho' it says they are litter box trainable....
it's just not the same as a cat. He'll have to wait until he gets his own house.

What a compliment from mama deer. She knows a safe place; yes, indeed.

Hey, Rusty. What's with the "new" style cycle? We all sorta liked the old pattern a lot. Don't confuse us.

Hope you had a good ride, Ella.

Neko and Rusty have been hanging out at the same place on shore. Paws crossed that means lagoon dips tonight.

Little deer are so cute. A couple of years ago I arrived at my parents place to see twins parked under a tree near their back door. They were there for hours while momma deer was out and about. But she knew my parents as they had rolled apples to her all winter cause she had a limp from an abscess. Sounds like momma deer at your place is one of the regulars in your yard.

Awww, mama deer knows you and your family are good critters! Blue is OK Rusty, but we need you in the lagoon!

I think mama deer came to collect her fawn. At least I couldn't see it (from afar). Rusty had an all-blue day. He's eating well and we had a nice half hour outside this afternoon. I never did get out on my bike. Pulled weeds instead! The evening was spent figuring out how to get to my friend's house in NH from here (we had always gone from the city). Did some cleaning so Claudia doesn't think we are complete slobs!

Sorry to miss all of your condos.

Edward's new keyboard came and he likes it a lot.

Hey Rusty. We expect to see you in the lagoon tomorrow. China needs help and you know you like it there too. It's your job.

Hey, Rusty! I can't seem to find my way back to the lagoon. Do you think you can help me get there tomorrow, please? I don't mind shore duty, but Mama says I need to get wet once in a while. - Cinco

Awesome story about the fawn. I hope the mama has it safely with her again. Such darling little critters.

Morning Ella :coffee::coffee::coffee:

How cool on the baby deer. What a awesome sighting.

And Rusty - how was the blue grotto? Getting ready to venture into the lagoon?

Have a good one Ella!

I bet seeing that fawn was just amazing...I've seen some little ones, but none that tiny. Such sweet, beautiful creatures!! I hope you are able to get glimpses of the baby growing up!!

I hope Rusty sees some lagoon action today!!
