Good morning everyone,

Thanks for the encouragment yesterday. It really helps keep me in check on days like that. Anyway, Meadow's BG this morning was 288. Not bad I guess. Still no Ketones in her urine.

Found a well formed, but extrememly light colored BM in the box this morning. Not exactly sure if it was her, but it wasn't too long after I got her urine that I went back to clean the box, so I suspect it was her. Any idea what that means?
Have a good day everyone.

I am no poop professional, but I have seen all sorts of deposits from my two have varied in color and texture, some due to sickness, stress, or maybe change in food.
I see semi solid poop and no blood or straining or crying, and I am happy.
No poop and you may be at the vet getting those anal glands expressed, and lemme tell you, Shadoe was NOT PLEASED about THAT!! She spent an hour after we got home cleaning up her clean wet backside after her 'flushing'.

The other poop pros can tell you something useful, but that's my thoughts on poop.

Gotta love a place where discussions about poop and other eliminative functions are encouraged!

I look at it this way: People's poop can vary for any number of reasons. Why can't a cat's? Unless you see a marked change that persists (e.g., diarrhea, constipation), I wouldn't worry about it. It could be related to a different flavor of food -- Gabby does not do well with beef -- or that many of the LC foods are higher in fat content.

Thanks Ronnie, Sienna and Gayle. Only another cat lover could get excited about a poop conversation. LOL! I didn't even think about a flavor/food change. But when you all mentioned it, I remembered that since her appetite seemed a bit off yesterday after her hairball vomit, I gave her some chicken baby food to entice her to eat and she ate the jar of it. So that was probably the cause. I can't help but worry over every little thing with her. ;)

Oh I bet it was the baby food that did it. I agree - when Webber gives me a poop I do a cheer. It is always an event in out house when he gives a deposit.

BG of 288 is not bad at all.....hope you have a great day Dottie

Dottie,
It's important to watch for those changes in Meadow. And it is a good thing that you mentioned it because you just never know, right? It could have been something serious that needed attention.
You did the right thing - you noticed something had changed, was different, and you asked about it. Meadow could not ask for better care than to have your watching her closely.

Besides, some poop is 'magical'!

 Ah yes, Magical Poop
those were the days

Did you know some kitties, when they poop, their Bg drops? Luna was famous for that. I loved his Magical Poops!

Well now, wouldn't it be great if we could just make them poop out the extra sugar and not need insulin! Of course we might not like having to do extra scoop duty. Magical Poops...I love it!
