Hello!
So, we've been away since Monday and Bella has been in the 120-130s for AMPS and PMPS since then. Our sitter is asking if she should increase. She has 2.5 units. I could tell her to do 2.75, she is a diabetic cat mom herself. But she went down to the 60s on 2.75 so I'm a little worried. What are your advices?

I assume sitter will just get an amps and pmps? I’d give the 2.5 some more time. Does she eat well when you are not there?
Yes, she gets an AM and PM PS. Bella eats very well but there is always the risk that the feeder might not open. It happened once. She will be completely alone starting tomorrow evening, my husband is there at night for now but he's leaving tomorrow, so she will be alone betwen shots. I will tell her to wait. Thank you!

I can ask her to do that tonight. I'm afraid the difference might be from 2 things. I was using calipers and she is not. She is using half-units syringes. But she tends to "adjust" the dose, giving slightly less or slightly more depending on Bella's numbers. Also, Bella's diet is different, she is usually on raw food during the day and canned at night (what I leave in her feeder). It's been only canned since I left, and no snacks. So it's possible that she might be getting lower during her cycles and then bouncing. I guess if that is the case she will steabilize soon.

I told her not to, but she mentions giving full dose or fat dose, for example. I hope she does not get higher.
It’s also possible that Bella ate her snack close to the time of her shot, that would explain the high as well.

Her numbers are higher but not too bad. Better she stays a little high than drop too low. Enjoy your vacation. Once you are back, you can get her back on track. :-)
