I was a little discouraged as Amy was about to leave last night and she was falling again. Around midnight she managed to get to her regular LB and use it. She spent the rest of the night in our new set up under the piano.http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=12403665&l=67f83f4c92&id=776995175

I woke every 1-2hrs to check on her, offer water, and kibble or baby food from a spoon. Most of the time she refused. She was very eager for pets at her 4am check. She purred for the first time since yesterday a.m. before the vet. She Ate babyfood AND peed (with urgency) in her new LB under the piano. Got some more bupe in her, a +11 test. She refused water from me, but instead walked to her bowl and was able to sit there and drink it w/o leaning or falling over! She still cant seem to put her butt all the way to the ground when sitting. She turned back from another trip to her LB to go use the one under the piano. Remember, this right next to my bed. Its surrounded by pee pads. I am glad she is using it for now and has not peed herself yet. But I certainly do not,if she decides to pull through this,want to make this permanent!
Since her shot this morning she has been very mobile, and looking good. While getting my computer started I heard a loud meow and ran into the room. She somehow managed to jump onto my bed. Its on the floor now, but she really didnt have great success when she tried yesterday. The meow might have meant it hurt (or maybe she just wanted me to come see what she did! :lol: ). I offered her some wet food in her regular spot and she ate some. Still unable to sit. Playing around with different heights of her bowls to make it easiest for her. She even spent a little time in the hallway! She is putting effort into laying on her right side, rather than falling over onto her left and staying put where she landed. This will really help with giving her meds.
I dont think we are out of the woods yet, as I feel she has to be watched ALL the time because she is still fairly wobbly AND she is becoming more determined to get around. BUT, I certainly see a gigantic difference between yesterday when we got back from the vet and now. She CAN drink, eat, and use her LB on her own. This is not something she was able to do yesterday. That was the QOL concern we were having. So, we will see how the rest of the weekend goes and touch base with her regular vet on Monday. My main focus until then is keeping her safe and making sure she is as comfortable as possible.
I dont doubt the well wishes everyone sent made a big difference. I read them to her around midnight last night, crying the entire time of course (me, not her). Amy's great support made it possible to get things quickly set up in my small living quarters to make sure Latte has everything she needs. . She didnt forget me by including some frozen pizzas, OJ, adult beverages, and chocolate! :lol:
A HUGE thank you to LLEF and all of you in Lantus Land, who decided to help pay for this vet visit. :YMHUG: It was a big surprise!!!!! Being able to get the xrays helped us pinpoint and seemingly treat her more appropriately than if we were trying to guess (like we had to do last time). Pain was not even something the vet suggested last time, thus no pain meds. After seeing the xrays, it was a no brainer - even with my fear of pain meds-that I had to use them. And, I think they have helped tremendously.
I think Latte is dropping and clearing this bounce...She is eating pretty good this a.m.! (so grateful she has had an appetite around this. It was just a matter of finding a way for her to be able to eat comfortably). Im going to head back to bed shortly - only about 3hrs sleep at most last night. But, will check in this afternoon.
From the bottom of our hearts...thank you so much for working your magic. I hope it continues to do wonders for her achey back,wobbly legs,and spirit.
