5/8 Cleo Oldtimer Report

happy to say cleo's AMPS yesterday was 138. sad to say mine was 120 (speared finger with syringe & didn't want to waste good blood).

she just had another monthly oncology checkup on wednesday and thursday i got the word that her blood and urine test results were normal. (two months normal after an anemia scare and higher kidney values 3 months ago). last ultrasound was normal, too, and she gained a few ounces from her prior visit at which she'd lost half a pound. she's still on ceenu and prednisolone, and i've found that her BGs are actually better if i give the pred SID (5mg).

our spreadsheet is woefully out of date but these past few weeks her preshots have been mostly in the hundreds. i've learned that DD preshots get a scruff shot instead of belly, or she hypos. sometimes she gets a +15 shot because of low numbers, and i ended up skinnying up her dose this week because of a 37. so her dose is now 1.75u skinny. (before pred her dose was about 0.75u BID)

even happier to say her vet bill was $277 instead of her normal monthly $400+, so my pocketbook was very happy and i could buy chocolate this month. :)
 
If I could only tell you how many times I've speared myself. I don't test myself, however!!

It's good to hear that Cleo is doing well. The labs sound great.

Hi Chris!! Great report on Cleo today! I'm so glad that the vet visit went well and you can enjoy all that chocolate!!!
 
So happy to hear Cleo's doing well and the vet let you splurge on a bit of chocolate. When my vet bill is "just" $200, I think someone has made a mistake.
 
Glad to hear that Cleo is doing so well! But you might want to get some labwork done on you if that 120 was a *fasting* number!! Perhaps you had just eaten the fore-mentioned chocolate!! Seriously, though, anything above 100 fasting could be either pre-diabetic or even diabetic, so take care of yourself and get checked...
 
it sounds like Cleo is doing great, you've worked really hard to keep her in such good shape. I agree with the others, don't forget to take care of yourself too. It's good to see you here!

yeah, not sure if you'd call my 120 BG a fasting number. i'm sleeping in 4-hr increments these days and DH's work is stressing us both out this year. so does it count as stress-related elevated BGs? that's my story, and i'm sticking to it.

Nice to see an update on you both! Miss having you around more regularly. Now, off to trader joes cause macadamia nuts in chocolate.......wonder if they come in dark chocolate???
 
joyce, they DO come in dark chocolate, too. flat crispy sugary chocolatey yummies! i bought two containers and am savoring them! i'm just a milk chocolate fan, myself.
