Yesterday's Condo

Cinco's appetite has been good again today, although he's not quite as voracious as he seemed yesterday. He took his time with his second breakfast, leaving a couple of bites on the plate. He just completed his +6 snack, then turned and polished off those remaining bites of breakfast. He's had a quiet day, relaxing in the living room. Probably worn out from waking the household at 4:36 am with his hollering!!!!  No particular reason that we could find. I know that, being blind, he can't tell the difference between day and night, but Geez!!! We have got to find a way to break him of this habit. He has such a healthy set of lungs that there's no way to sleep through that! :o

Sasha seems much improved this morning - I think the benadryl really helps. I got her meds down here with minimal struggle. She actually likes the cat sack, once she's in it. After she'd had her pills, I unzipped it and undid the collar, and she just laid there in it, on my lap, and purred! Nice to know she wasn't upset about the ordeal of being pilled! I spent a good five minutes loving on her before she decided it was time to move on.

We are overcast, cool and windy today. There's a slight chance of showers, but I'm not holding my breath. Tomorrow starts the warm up, and they're saying we could hit 99 by mid-week! ICK!!!! Not looking forward to that. Indoor projects today, but tomorrow I must get out and deadhead the roses and tackle the weeds and suckers that have come back with a vengeance since my last attack on them.

Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG: Special vines and prayers to Rich as his Rex is losing his battle with CKD. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Re: 5/8 Cinco AMPS 268 +3 165 +6 105

Nice +6 there Cinco! Love a happy appy. We have a 4:30 AM screamer too in our civvie, Turnup. She will yell from one end of the house to the other and scream right in your face. Ugh. Let me know if you figure out how to break them of that. Glad Sasha is better today. I hope you get some showers. We are in a drought here so am hoping that we get lots of rain. Have a great day!!

Nice slide for Cinco today. Good luck breaking him of his hollering in the morning. I'm glad Sasha is better today. It's good to know she's not traumatized by the sack.

Very nice +6 today Cinco!!

Maybe you could come talk to China and find out what's going on with her...You can tell your bean and she can tell me??

Tricia..have you considered a shock collar for those early morning howl sessions? ;-)

Of course I'm NOT serious! I would NEVER really suggest this...was just remembering days when China used to do that too...and with some Siamese in her, she is one heck of a yowler!

I think they hear the early birds and decide it's time to get up!
Nice slide for Cinco today. 99 degrees!! Good luck with that!!

Have a good evening, Tricia,

Thanks for the visits, guys.

Melissa, we are in a drought, too, so I would welcome any rain, but so far all it's done is spit a little. Not even enough to put spots on my dirty car! If I figure out a way to stop the 4:30 am hollering, I will be sure to let you all know!

Chris, I swear Cinco must have Siamese in him somewhere. You wouldn't know it to look at him, but he sure sounds like one! Good thing you didn't suggest the shock collar at 4:30 this morning, or I would have gotten on Amazon and ordered one!If Cinco knows what's going on with China, he's not talking. I think there is some sort of code of silence among FD kitties - like a gang. Never rat another kitty out to a bean! ;-)

Ella, even the birds were still asleep when Cinco started hollering. I'm sure he woke them, too! NOT looking forward to 99, or 95, or 90, or anything over about 80! Can you believe I grew up in Tucson?

The vet called this afternoon with some of Sasha's results. Of course, the one that is stressing me out the most is the one she didn't have yet - the cystology (or whatever it was- the biopsy of the lump)! Her blood work was mostly good, with thyroid in the "gray zone", so she want to recheck that in 6 months. Her white cells were a little elevated, but we were expecting that with whatever's going on in her lungs. The radiologist said that she has chronic bronchitis and probably asthma - no big surprise. I'm to continue the AB and Pred as prescribed, and Zyrtec or Benadryl as needed. The radiologist also commented on Sasha's colon - from the x-ray, it looks like either the walls are thickening, which could be IBD or (gulp!) the beginnings of lymphoma, OR it could just be a lot of loose stool waiting to be eliminated. I don't like it when my cats have diarrhea, but I vote for the latter. Sasha has always been a barfer, but she has really been a lot better the past several years. Her stools have not been out of the ordinary, so I don't see how either of those things is manifesting. The vet says to watch her lb output for any signs of diarrhea and also to note if she is throwing up a lot. IBD is treated with Pred, so she says if that is the problem, we're already doing something about it. Most of this is just wait and see (The story of my life lately). Now I'm just waiting (there's that word again)for the last report, which should come tomorrow. Prayers would be welcome. I don't know if I can handle another cancer diagnosis - especially one for my cuddle pumpkin! nailbite_smile

Hi Tricia,
Sending many many prayers for Sasha.
:YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

I'm glad Cinco is eating good. :-D

So Cinco and Max both like to make noise in the early hours. I wish I knew why. Let's see more numbers like that +6 please Cinco.
