Memorial Day. I started thinking about that last night because on Facebook there are a lot of statuses set to remember the men and women serving our country and who have served our country to make it a safe place for us to live in. I think I'll change mine shortly as well.
I think I would like to dedicate my day on FDMB to all of the GA diabetic (and non-diabetic) kitties and their beans who worked so hard to help them through this daily sugar dance we have come to accept as a way of life. And to those who didn't have any help like we have now even before that. ( My first ever cat Sparky was dx'd with diabetes and HCM at 9 years old, a very long time ago. The vet said because he had both, there was nothing they could do and my poor boy was pts at 9 years old). Because of the dedicated beans who have been on FDMB for years, even after their beautiful babies have GA, it makes the quality of care for our kitties that are here now even better..because of what they learned and what we learn from them.
So thank you, all of you beautiful kitties at the bridge, and the mama and papa beans who loved them, for still helping us every day so that the quality of diabetic care for our kitties keeps improving every day (I'm thinking of all of you with gratitude). And God Bless you, Rebecca for giving us a place to learn.
Have a great Memorial Day everyone!
