Hi Everyone,
We are having severe thunderstorms, and the internet provider is going off and on, but here goes anyway. Sorry it took me so long to get to the board today, but there was so much to do after returning from camp. It is hot and humid and poor Rusty is suffering in his luxurious fur coat. But he's doing fine. He had such a good time at camp: he sat on the picnic table on the porch for hours and watched birds and kept an eye out for squirrels; he slept on the bed a lot during the day because he was up and about at night, keeping an eye out for mice; he had good appetite and good breathing and he only coughed once the whole time we were there! (makes me think there is something in our house that makes his congestion worse).
The beans got lots done with regard to getting camp in shape for the summer. Our new hot-water heater was installed on Thurday (no problems) and is great (the old one was 20 years old--10 years beyond it's warranty and still doing OK-- but we wanted to replace it before it broke). The new well is great! We pulled out the old pipes that we used to get water out of the lake (a job, but those unsightly rubber pipes are now gone). We went shopping in the nearest supermarket (25 miles away) and wine store. Edward went swimming, but the water was way too cold for me. We and our friends had dinner out to celebrate the start-of-the-season. Yesterday, a gorgeous day, we went out in our canoes in the morning and then packed up and headed home in the mid afternoon. Rusty was a perfect traveler, once again.
So here we are in heavy rainfall (which really is needed). Today, before the storms, we got the lawn mowed. Later I got caught in a thunderstorm while out on my bike and got soaked. But during the ride I was able to observe a turtle laying her eggs in a hole she had dug near the little pond I like to ride around. That was so neat!
We are about to veg out for a while. bbl. I hope all is well in LL,
