Ok - got to be quick cuz I'm going out to grab some fast food breakfast (which I almost never have). To go, of course. That's "take away" for some of you. I almost gave Kasha a dose reduction on the spot, but then I thought, No - I'm home, I can monitor and let her earn it. I can't for the life of me figure out why I didn't wait 20 min or so to see if she was rising. I mean really - this is like shooting low numbers for us - I don't know the last time I saw yellow first thing in the morning...

Ok - I'll be back. Her onset seems like it happens fairly early, so time's a-wasting here.

Hi there!

A very nice start to this morning. I'm glad you didn't change the dose this is right where you want to be heading! I hope you you get to see more nice numbers while your home today.

You don't have to hurry your breakfast to much, you can relax a bit and enjoy it nothing is going to happen that fast! Gosh, I can't remeber the last time I had breakfast from a resturant (or take-out). I don't usually eat breakfast anyway, but where I live I don't think there's a place that's open for breakfast!

I hope Kasha has a good day today and gives you some good numbers. I'm a fan of "take out" food when in a hurry or too tired to fix anything. McDonalds has a good take out Egg McMuffin meal and also good pancakes. Also, their coffee is getting better all the time. Ok, enough about food as I'm getting hungry.

LOL - I went to McDonald's and got hotcakes (I don't know what it is, but I was just craving their hotcakes) and scrambled eggs. And then I got an Egg McMuffin (no meat) just in case - that's going to be set aside for reheating later if necessary. I rarely eat fast food - I usually don't even notice the restaurants when I'm driving, but today... I'm lovin' it - LOL...

Sure, I have organic eggs from the farmer's market in my fridge, but why actually make food when I can buy it ;-)

Kasha just detected the smell of junk food and she's honing in like a little bloodhound...

Oh how funny! we think alike with the cooking! Hot cakes is what I would have bought, too, had I been going out for take out today. I still may since you're tempting me! :lol:

After all the time you've spent struggling with and worrying over Kasha's numbers, the yellows are SO good to see! I wouldn't be surprised if you sat staring at the meter with your mouth open. I would be observant of Kasha's numbers now that the infection seems to have broken. There's no way to predict how quickly the dose may need to come down. Give Kasha a treat for being such a good girl!! (And you deserve some chocolate!)

Wow what a great number for Kasha--but doesnt warrant a dose reduction yet--Let's see what happens today!! Infection's all gone!! t Things could change now..Dont get scared at the numbers--we are here!

Fast food Saturday breakfast has become sort of a Saturday ritual here. Lucy likes Chick-Fil-A Chicken Minis (she only gets the chicken part, I get the bread that has a little honey on it). Now I want hotcakes tomorrow though...

Glad I could drum up some business for McDonald's - LOL... Kasha did get to try a little of the scrambled eggs (but no pancakes this time!).

She is just surfing along - I'm so thrilled. After seeing her drop precipitously from those high numbers on several occasions - I can't believe how slowly she is just curving down - so nice!

Yes, Sienne - I did sit there on the floor and stare at the meter for a few minutes (and double-checked to make sure it wasn't upside down!). If you'd asked me to form a complete sentence, I would have been unable at that moment - LOL... I mean, I was hoping for 300s but expecting high and then - wow... Not even high 200s - but 236. I should play that number! But I'm not craving the chocolate today... too sweet for me. Instead, when her numbers start heading up or if they still seem reasonable at +5, I'm running off to one of the farmer's markets and getting a pie! Then picking up some more cat food, stopping at Trader Joe's and having lunch with my mom... Yay...

I keep telling Kasha how proud I am of her and to keep up the good work... Of course, she's dozing off and my attention is bugging her, but oh well. This is the kitty who starts purring when I bring out the testing kit...

Congratulations!

I just finished reading a lot of your posts from earlier this week and I felt so bad for you... What a difference a day makes!
You deserve that fast food Mickey D's breakfast...I personally love them :razz:

Glad to see that Kasha's numbers are coming down and as everyone said, the AB must be kicking in!

This is my 'welcome' and *sigh of relief* and 'keep up the good work' all-in-one post :lol:

Well, she's surfing the blues and I'm gonna go run my errands and get lunch... Whew...

BTW: Wasn't it thoughtful of Kasha to toss that 236 at me on a day when I was home to monitor? If it had been a work day, I'm not sure what I would have done...

this is very nice to see. Especially after how upset you were the other day.

Very nice indeed.

Oh and most definitely share the treats with Miss Kasha - she earned that. Not the hotcakes but all the other proteins you got. Or better yet, cook her up one of those organic eggs in your fridge - I'm sure she'd love the treat!

I always have to share my breakfast with Buster. If I don't, she just helps herself!
 
Grrr... 469. Apparently we only get one good preshot number per day? Is that it?

Well, she ate her dinner - over 2 Tbsp FF. Some chicken dust to round it all out. And had her 16th Baytril - ate it right up in the pill pocket. How long can THAT last?

She seems pretty content. Hope she comes back down soon... but not too fast. Knowing her, that's a lot to ask.

And the farmer's market was out of pies... double grrrr...
 
I'm really impressed that the pill pockets are still working. :mrgreen: It makes life a lot easier when you don't have to stress about meds.

Nice day for Kasha, yeah she had to bounce, but it will go away.

No kidding - I am shocked that they are still working. In fact, when she goes behind the couch, I just show her the bag of pill pockets and she comes out for them. How weird is that?
 
Wow, I have been gone for a bit and am so happy to come here and see this. You really have had a tough go of it.
I hope you see LOTS more of these better numbers.
Now I want pancakes too.
 
That's great about the pill pockets. I hope Kasha comes down later. No pies, that's a bummer! I had to get those McDonalds pancakes, too, this morning as you made me hungry when you mentioned take out. :smile:

My cats are always too smart for pill pockets so great you are able to use them I have tried them more then once here and whatever cat I have used them for always seems to know there is a pill lurking inside :lol: come on down out of red soon Kasha cat_pet_icon
 
Well, just got back from my walk. Picked up 2 DVDs and now we're watching a very sappy movie together (Kasha, Blue and I). Kasha's +2 was 379, so she's headed down... we'll see how far she goes. The funny DVD is next, in case it's a long night :smile:

I've moved on from pancakes (since there are still some in my fridge and why would I crave what I have?). Now I'm craving fresh squeezed orange juice now. There's a little place about 5 min drive from my house that will squeeze a tall cup of OJ for you and it's soooo good. Maybe I need the vitamin C... Maybe sappy movies and bounces make me thirsty.

Lisa - are you saying Kasha isn't smart? Jeez... I'll have you know she's the rocket scientist of cats... LOL

Kasha always grew wise to the pill pockets in the past, but now we're trying the duck flavored allergy formula pill pockets (no corn syrup) and maybe they are just novel enough - or maybe it's because she's not eating everything else in the house anymore (cuz it's not low carb) so any treat other than meat is enough of a novelty. Whatever it is - I'm not going to question it. Plus, we have the flavored Baytril tabs - I don't imagine they taste great, but they don't taste as bad as the non-flavored version, I guess, so maybe when she chews the pill pocket the flavors merge together into something non-offensive..
