Dude (& Mittsi too) wants to say hi to all his buddies and pals here in LL - haven't posted about him in quite awhile but that doesn't mean I don't check in from time to time to keep track of all you LL beans and your sugar kitties.

I haven't posted much because those of you who used to follow us know that Dude is not the easiest guy to regulate - his past SS reports have been most colorful with occasional red splotches that were totally unexplainable.

I finally tried TID (newbies please don't try this without knowing what your kitty does on the insulin - it can be a little tricky and you must stay on top of the testing). After awhile the numbers began to level out and he even got to the point where he was so low he wasn't getting the second shot at +8.

Dude had a checkup in March and a senior blood panel was done. His numbers were pretty normal for an almost 16-year-old guy. Dr. Dan thought he heard a slight heart murmur so we took him back a couple of weeks ago - nope - no murmur. He's at 12 lbs. - down a little bit but still large enough.

Since going back on BID the end of April, he has done very well. He started going up a bit and I increased the dose .1U but will have to go back down again tonight as today he has stayed below 100 since +4. I know that a lot of his numbers are higher than most other kitties, but that's Dude - that's where he stays and probably where he will always stay.

He's happy - he feels good - he woke us a couple of mornings ago running up and down the back, uncarpeted hallway - I muttered "jeez" and DH muttered back, "He's okay - he's just playing horse." It's one of his favorite games.

Am going to go check out the other condos now - good seeing everyone - don't forget us - we're still lurking.

What a nice report....good Dude...playing horse. Sounds as if he is doing very very well! So great that your posted a condo for Dude today! It is interesting that you went the extra million miles with the TID...wow...what a great Mama you are! Must be a bit easier now. Great job! :-D

Dude is being Dude, all is well. My old blue point Meezer liked to play Horse too. Fortunately I have carpet, I can imagine what it would have sounded like otherwise. But he feels good and he wants everybody to know!

Hey Emmy! Great to see you and Dude (hi Mittsi too) and hear that he's doing well. (I see those 50's today, whew!)
His galloping around the house sure sounds like he is a healthy happy kitty. Hope you and Bob are doing great too.

Hi Emmy!

Reading your WCR made me laugh.. Our BR is right off of the kitchen with laminated flooring and it is nothing for our romping kitties to slide into the walls.. doors.. kitchen table. We always have to forewarn guests to think nothing of the bumps in the night!.. lol!

Glad to hear that Dude is doing well.. and with flying colors from Dr. Dan! :-D

Hi Emmy! It's really good to see you and Dude and of course Miss Mitsy. I love it that Dude is playing horsey. Would have loved to see it. As usual I see he is keeping you on your toes numbers wise. Some of our kitties just don't like to play by the rules. Are you listening Tori?

Hi Emmy!! I haven't been on the board lately, but checked in today. So nice to see the Dude report. Glad he's doing well! Thinking of you!

so nice to hear Dude is being a happy cat. was he really playing horse? or was he playing "run for your life Mittsi's after me ! "

either way is all in good fun. numbers schmumbers says Dude.

Yep - that's what he says - as he hit the 300's again at PM PS - I talk - he doesn't listen. I'm hesitant to test his numbers again before bedtime - haven't a clue as to where he'll be.

Good to see everyone again - thanks for the input.
