Darcy was really "off" today and seemed to not feel well. He didn't want to eat and had eaten little overnight (only the kibble and not the canned food I left out for him.) He did not sleep with me at all, which is odd. He slept on the floor.
I ended up taking him to the vet mid-morning. I didn't want to worry all weekend that maybe something else was wrong (fever, infection). It is my opinion that he is a little constipated because he has been passing only these little round hard balls of stool (last night - nothing today, I think). I gave 1/8 tsp. of Miralax this morning when I syringe fed him two tubes. I fed him again later after the vet visit. He has eaten a little for me this afternoon (twice).
She rechecked his kidney values and they are not improved. A little worse, but the change was not so great that you would think it would make much difference. Phosphorus down to 5.6 so that is better (I started the niacinamide three days ago ... maybe causing constipation?) Creatinine 5.9 and BUN 117 so a little higher... going in the wrong direction. HCT 28.
Right now he is sleeping next to me and is stretched our in a much more comfortable position than I found him last night and this morning. We are getting ready to go out to dinner for our anniversary (which was last week) at a lovely French restaurant that is out of this world (Chef is from Nice, and we've been going to his restaurant for about 15 years now.)
I can't remember if there was anything else I wanted to report... I need to go change into my human form...

Happy Belated Anniversary
Hope Darcy is feeling better, eating better. I hope you are able to enjoy this special dinner. Our cats do tend to be the center of our life. Sending Dolly’s hungry tummy, no nausea or returns accepted.
