Good Morning, Everyone,
We had a frost last night and Rusty enjoyed snuggling into the quilts. He had some of his congestive coughing early this morning, but then went back to sleep. Then, at AMPS, Edward stepped on his tail!. Ouch! Poor Rusty is now sleeping it off in his little bed by the radiator (which is ON!). Rusty ate most of his nighttime food and started in on his breakfast (first sitting).
Today is a "get ready for the weekend" day: cleaning and shopping, because tomorrow we plan to go on a paddle if the leaders decide that conditions aren't too bad (it is still very cold and windy). My sister will arrive on Saturday. We'll do an easy paddle on Sunday so that she can get her paddling muscles tuned up a little (she is 87). The traditional Memorial Day paddle is on Sunday and this year we will paddle the Upper Osgood River, starting at Church Pond, paddling through a channel to Osgood Pond, which we will cross to get to the river. The Upper Osgood River is beautiful and remote. We paddle up to the rapids where the river goes underground and then paddle back to the start after lunch at a campsite. (About 2 miles downstream from where the river goes underground it re-emerges as the Lower Osgood; this is the paddle we did last year.)
Keeping all kitties and beans who are not feeling well in our thoughts today,
