5/2 Shen PMPS 137

Just gave Shen his PM shot 15 mins back and while pulling the syringe out, I noticed some blood at the injection spot. It was only a tiny bit, a lot less than what I get from his ear pokes.

I don't think I've any way of knowing if I've injected into his skin or muscle, instead of the fat layer. I didn't notice any wetness on his fur so the shot went through.

Is there anything I need to look out for? I'm not seeing any immediate reactions from Shen - he didn't react to the shot, continued eating the food after being injected and has now gone back to sleep.

Don't worry about it. It's possible you nicked a capillary while giving the shot. It's not uncommon while giving shots or fluids.

Yes! I was expecting a repeat of 1st May but got surprised with greens.

Currently riding solo :’) I try to stay awake till +4 and set up alarms for the rest of the testing/feeding times. I’m actually a night owl but it’s difficult being equally active in both cycles

All your hard work is paying off! He is flattening out beautifully into blues and greens. How is the drooling and the appetite? I see his poop is still watery.

Does the depot affect the BG drops every day differently? I was trying to see if yesterday's PM cycle would follow 1st May's pattern since the PMPS was nearly the same on both days, but it went a completely different way

How is the drooling and the appetite? I see his poop is still watery.

I can't find a pattern to the drooling, some days it's a lot, some days it's less - but it's there.
The appetite is the same way He's eating less than before but it's not concerning so long as he doesn't outright reject the food.
As for the poop, I'm hoping it gets better once the antibiotic course is done. He's getting 2 capsules of Darolac daily.

Yeah, an unregulated cat can be quite unpredictable. Shen is heading towards regulation so his patterns will be different now than a few days back. Once they get regulated, you will see beautiful, flat, boring cycles!

It's probably dental related and something that you can get checked out soon - considering how his BG is coming under control.

He will be less hungry in lower numbers and I'm sure the antibiotic isn't helping with the appetite either!

It's probably dental related and something that you can get checked out soon - considering how his BG is coming under control.

Oh yes, not looking forward to that (his dental extractions) at all. As someone who's had quite a few dental issues herself, I feel for my poor boy
