Hmm..not sure about the numbers today. I am glad to see that Putty did not go back to pink for PMPS.
I am a little worried that I may have shot a fur shot. I know the needle went in and Putty did not move but I did smell Lantus and their was a little bit of wet on his fur. I hope it was just that little drop at the end of the needle.
Putty is fine although a little annoyed when I went to test him tonight. I guess he is just having a crabby day. grumpy_cat

Miriam, i was thinking of something and it may not be worth the dust on the computer screen, but maybe, just maybe.... as part of the 'spirment'... you know. Do you count when you give Putty his shot? No, i'm not sitting in a room full of funny smoke.... when I just found this board and when nice people were guiding me in my hysterics, one person said to count, 1-kitty-kitty, 2-kitty-kitty and maybe 3 before removing the needle and press slowly on the needle to give time for the goo to exit the needle gently. I'm just throwing it out there... for you ... in case you wanna try something else.... ohmygod_smile

today was a nice slow drop, that's the goal so Putty is catching on. :smile:

Hi Mirium,

I don't count but in theory its the same. Once when I gave Sara her shot I noticed that there was a little drop left on the needle. I know that a drop makes a difference. From than on I decided to press the plunger in and hold for a couple seconds. It has worked ever since.

Maybe you do this, but if not it works great.

Looks like he's coming down slowly..Moonie was in a mood today too Is it raining there??-I thought it was maybe her arthritis, but maybe this is her cranky??

Hi Miriam, I read one of Helene's posts several weeks ago about saying the "1 kitty kitty, 2 kitty kitty" mantra before withdrawing the syringe and it seems to work well. At least I don't smell Lantus residue. In any event, Stu doesn't seem to mind having the needle in a bit longer. (Of course, it hasn't made too much of a difference in his numbers!!!)
Putty looks good today. Nice PMPS, especially.

Oh nooooooooo I just found it unusual for Polite Putty to be less social.... I know that he has friends. We luv Putty!

And... with respect to the counting... it wasn't my idea, I just used it and it make sense (and I did read something somewhere on needles and "some" issues with tiny needles and the force we apply to the plunger.... I don't make this stuff up... really! :lol: )

I am very happy with the flat blue....I really hope this keeps him from bouncing to pink but he seems to be heading up now.

Thank you Helene for the counting tips while shooting. He had been giving me such a hard time for shots for a while that I did them as quick as I could before he ran away. He has been very good about it now because I put treats on his testing blanket so while he eats I shoot. I will start my 1 kitty, kitty 2 kitty, kitty tomorrow.
