Re: 5/18 Arnie PMPS 274

Arnie acts completely normal. He has always been that way. The vet don't know what is causing the high numbers. I have 2 theorys. After reading about the problems with the one touch strips giving false low numbers I am now wondering if that whole year of great numbers on low doses was all false low readings? I hope that is not the case but it is probably better than my second theory which is that his diabetes is getting much worse and harder to control. I will give this dose a chance for several more days, at least 5 more before I try another dosecrease to 3.0. As long as things don't get worse and Arnie seems healthy and happy as he is I am going to stop worrying about it. He has been diabetic for 3 years now and it has probably aged me 10 years...LOL I need to STOP beating myself up over things that are just not my fault. I am doing all I can do for him and a lot more than most people (outside the FDMB) would ever do. I have taken care of Arnie the best I can ever since I got him almost 10 years ago and I will continue to do the same but I am not going to worry any more!

Bob I know it is mind boggling what happened to Arnie's numbers. I don't know about the strips but I think the numbers were too consistent to be a problem with the strips. I think you would have seen some strange patterns..... but what do I know.

I understand your feelings. It seemed like Putty was doing so well then his whole pattern changed. I want there to be answers but sometimes it just is what it is and we don't have any control. I do still believe if Arnie got there once he can get better regulated again. It may just take some time.

You are a good Dad to Arnie. cat_pet_icon
