Gracie's Yesterday

Happy Caturday. Tons of vines today for Zoey, Tricia's crew, Amy's dad, Elise's Mom, and any others who need them as well as cheers for the OTJ trials for Eddie and Zeke. Thanks for visiting last night @Bron and Sheba , @rhiannon and shadow, and @Vyktors Mum. :):)

Gracieland was not a happy place to be at +2 this morning. She had been wonderful ...playful, happy, etc, but she projectile vomited her +2 food right after she ate it and then refused to eat again. This is very unlike her because on the rare times she vomits, she will immediately eat (because usually it's a scarf/barf or hairball). I noticed that she kept licking her front left paw but I didn't see anything on it that she would be licking off and I don't think she vomited on it. I gave her 1/4 ondansetron and a few fingertip licks of karo as her BG was dropping and then I waited about 40 minutes to try and feed again and she ate. She's been absolutely fine ever since and was even in playing and chasing with Tobes after she vomited. All I could think was that she got bitten by an insect because she did this very same thing a year or so ago and Dr. B felt it was an allergic rxn. The mystery of cats......

Tobey was absolutely cracking me up today. I had to move the catio furniture to the middle of the catio as it was raining so his condos were close together. I went out to give him his supplement via syringe and he was ricocheting from one condo to another, up and down, and then jumped to the sofa as if it was trampoline, up onto the window sill, and through the escape hatch. Obviously, he had other ideas about the supplement. Next thing I knew, he had run down the hallway, through the den, and we "collided" in the entryway where mama...quick quick....gave him the supplement. He loves the Primal frozen raw venison but is so-so on the turkey so I bought a bag of freeze-dried raw turkey (Primal) and a bottle of Primal goat's milk. I "reconstitute" the freeze dried raw turkey with the goat's milk and some water and OMG! He can barely wait to lap it all up :):):) Gracie really wants it but the goat's milk also has inulin which is good for any digestive issues but also can raise the BG.

Hope you all have a great day!

Sort of concerning about the vomiting, refusal to eat. Bet you're right, though. Bug bite. We've had that happen a few times to kitties at work. Best vet guess: insect bite.

You go, Tobey. Run. Run. Oh, darn. Wrong way, boy. Funny narrative!

Excellent numbers LBG. Yea!

You sure have a couple of characters there! Love the image of Tobey ricocheting from one condo to the other.

Poor Gracie. Nasty way to start her day. I'm glad she's recovered so well.

Hmmm. Goat's milk. I wonder if that would be good for Minka and Sasha?

I would have loved to see Tobey bouncing about....that would have been awesome! Hopefully the vomiting was just a fluke or bug bite......

Thanks for visiting Marilyn, Bron, Tricia, Carla, Ella, Rhiannon, and Molly.

Gracie has been doing great the rest of the day anti jinx. She's been eating well. Playing, etc.

Tricia and Rhiannon....the goat's milk is supposed to be really great for cats. I'm only guessing it would raise BG because of the insulin but the American Diabetes Association states I ulin is a good sugar substitute for diabetics because it doesn't raise BG as other sugars or sugar substitutes might. It might be worth a try...ECID.

Interesting thoughts on the goats milk Marje, we have plenty of goats cheese but never seen the milk, will try to source it.
Glad Gracie has recovered, Tobey sounds rather fun.

Gracie is looking positively ravishing on this dose. And letting you sleep at night? Good girl. :)

Neko is liking her Duralactin, which is dried milk protein. And doesn't seem to bother her BG's.
