WCR Sara is doing great. Sometimes I have problems with bubbles and wonder if she gets the correct dose. #'s are good though. She is being her lovey sweet self. Shes always game for a brushing with I use as a treat somethimes after I test her. Model patient.

Happy caturday

Dumb ole bubbles. I waste so much insulin sometimes, trying to get those pesky bubbles out

Have a Great Day Jan & Sara :-D

Morning Jan. Are you lubricating the syringe enough by pulling it in and out a few times before you fill it with insulin? there is lubrication on the inside and if you spread it around a bit and then fill the syringe slowly, the bubbles are down to a minimum.

(I push the syringe in and out and then depress it all the way as I insert it into the pen. When you depress it as far as it goes it pushes a lot of air out of the syringe. Keeping the syringe depressed, I insert it and then let go and draw the insulin slowly into the pen. I get one bubble usually...all the air being only in one larger bubble.
Then, I flick it so the bubble goes to the end and squeeze it out then refill to the correct dose. does that make sense? Some people fill the pen with insulin and then pull the syringe out of the pen. Pull syringe back to allow a lot of air in the syringe, and then push out the air that has .accumulated up and out and then refill to the correct dose.) The big secret is to lubricate the inside though by pull it in and out maybe 5 time or so so it gets spread around inside...Hope it works for you....

That is so great that Sara is such a good patient for you...she is so sweet!
