Good Afternoon LL

Daphne and I had one heck of a night last night. Not sure which one of us was worse. It started to rain I guess on Sunday night, and rained all day yesterday and into the night, so by 11:00 pm, we were both in pretty bad pain. I had to send out an SOS to LL, SO THANK YOU LL, again! It was late when I asked for help, so not many people were on the board, but the people that were, even though they were dealing with their own issues and kitties, they wrote. :YMHUG:

For those of you who live in a different state, and not one on the central/east coast, you may not know that when it rains here, the people who suffer with pain, especially with arthritis and Fibromyalgia, and back issues, it really makes it ten times worse. So last night, I guess Daphne and I just had it with this rain! My own back literally locked up, the most I could do was sit on the floor with Daphne and I could heat the moist towels in the heating pad, and put them on her back, (yes, I snuck a few hot towels for myself, even though I have the heavy meds. I use when its very bad, I didn't want to use them because of the brain fog it gives me and I couldn't put myself to sleep because Daphne needed me.) So anyway, with the little helpful aids I had, we got through one hell of a night.

I just saw a forcast and after today, we are supposed to have at least 9 days of some sun! :RAHCAT In the mean time I'm researching the best meds for Daphne and I put the call into the vet to see what she will give me. The two meds. I see on this board is the buprenorphinenor and the adequan. I know you would think I would take giving drugs to Daphne lightly, since I know and treat my own pain, but it really is the opposite. Strong drugs scare me, since I also know that they all come with lots of bad side effects.

OH and sorry, I missed a few post, (I just went back to yesterdays post). I so appreciate everyone who wrote when I finally went to bed. I could not keep my eyes open for another minute. And all I did since I've been awake was keep putting hot towels on Daphne, she is feeling so much better now. Vet still didn't call back.

THANKS Michelle, Melanie, Tortie, Dyana, Ella, Sienne, and Marje, who wrote and gave me safe and helpful advice. I wrote some notes from all of your post and will reread them again now.

Daphne is sound asleep and even snoring a bit  AND I SEE SUN!! CAN IT BE? ANTI JINX ON THAT!!

THANKS AGAIN LL :YMHUG:

Re: 5/15 Daphne AMPS 131

Hi Barb, sorry you had such a painful night and Daphne, too, and looks like you had some good advice. Sending vines for both you and Daphne to feel better. I hope the Vet can recommend something for Daphne's pain and arthritis. I do so remember the barometric pressure changes and how it affected me with RA. I was at a good time to make a change and moved to CA. I always thought I'd move back to my roots and may some day, but I'm still here. :-D Anyway, Daphne has a nice blue AMPS and is always looking good with her cycles.

Thanks Ann for visiting and I forgot you were an east coast girl, PA right? JMHO, stay there

I have never lived outside of NJ, but I always dream of it. I just would like, warm weather, less humid, and sun. Thats probably asking too much… The sun is actually out right now, but I see some dark clouds above.

Update

Vet tech called and said the vet had to look over some of Daphne's blood work and said something about liver #… a bit high? My old vet didn't say anything about Daphne's liver, so I don't know what she will say. I do remember when she was here (she is a traveling vet), she did mention something about liver and other numbers being OK, not great, but OK, so I figured it was just numbers of a 17 year old kitty. So I guess she is taking into account Daphne's numbers before she prescribes a pain med for her. (And I do know about not giving Metacam. Thanks Sienne for reminding me last night).

I think we really did make out pretty well last night, considering how much pain Daphne was in. The hot moist heat, and the support from LL really did wonders for her. I pretty much stayed with it for about 2 hours, and she drifted off to sleep, and shortly after, so did I.

Now I just wait for the liver issue and pain med. from vet.

Have a good night LL :YMHUG: I also think I forgot to send healing vines to all the kitties and beans who need them. Sending extra white light to Rocket as well.

It sounds like you did a wonderful job helping Daphne through a rough patch last night! Thank goodness the rain seems to be mostly gone now! I hope you're able to figure out what will work best for her. As you know, Mario is doing really well on Adequan, and he does have a number of other "senior kitty" issues...HyperT, high BP, renal insufficiency, some "off" liver values....for him, all are "ok", but not "perfect". Still, the Adequan has made such a huge difference for him, I can't imagine not using it.

I hope you hear from the vet soon, and that you are starting to feel better yourself, too!

Evening!! So so sorry to hear you & Daphne were in such pain last night--I so understand as I have RA too--felt lousy yesterday, but worse today, and am writing you from a heating pad too  --I also had 2 ocular migraines today & had head & neck pain along with the rest ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile
Hopefully we will have some sun up here & we will all feel better--Sorry I wasnt around last night, but am glad people were here to help..Most of those here with srthritis cats use the adequan quite successfully--Hope you can find some halp for both of you!!--Sending Hugs & Love & Healing from us!
