Took a dose reduction last night. The constant testing and feeding, to ward off low numbers, was stressful. Seems Susie went from yellows to greens in a heartbeat. What happened to more blues? I will take my chances with the reduction. I will learn more about feeding properly. I'll try to get her weight down and get her to be more active. I can live with these changes. I just can live with the constant poking and worrying and her ear is crusty from the poking. I might try to do fat unit 3s after watching her on unit 3 for a while. Maybe something in between the 3 units (yellows) and 3.25 units (greens) will be a better fit for her - and me.

Praying for Suzanne and Darcy. Poor kitty needs to get his appetite back.

You have to find what works for you and Susie. It sounds like modifying SLGS to take reductions at a lower number is not a good fit. Don't forget to update your signature line if you're not doing that any more. I use organic coconut oil on Furball's ears when I'm done testing for the night. Maybe that could help Susie's ears. :bighug::bighug:

Thanks for the tip on the coconut oil. I'm going back up to reductions at 70 and have made the corrections. It might be a while before she ever gets that low again. I just want to see some blues now.

That took a lot out of you yesterday, didn’t it?!
Yes, it did. I just couldn't see every day (and night) of my life like that and didn't want to put Susie through the testing every hour on the hour (practically). Somehow, between the 3 units and the 3.25 units I missed falling into more blues. Doesn't make any sense. I just want to be between 80 and 140. I know that is too high but I think Susie will be safer and I will be more relaxed not worrying so much. She was actually more sluggish on the days her numbers were low. She wasn't coming out and socializing. I hope your boy is eating this morning, Suzanne.

Good morning Summer, just wanted to 2nd the coconut oil. When I came home from the hospital Dolly’s ear (1 only allowed):stop: was purple and bright red, crusty, keloids, my husband was new at this and he was probably panicking to get blood. The coconut oil was perfect for healing. After a year and 1/2 of poking I am finally doing it right myself :cat::cat: (except this morning’s 4 pokes ). I know you are feeling very relieved and that not only benefits you but Susie as well. They pick up on our stress and every other emotion. I hope today is a great day for both of you. Sending hugs :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

You are so sweet and supportive, Adrienne. I thought I was going to get a lot of criticism for the reduction but, honestly, yesterday was very stressful for Susie and I. Not good for either of us. I just need to take a different path. Maybe by reducing her food intake a little it will help to lower her BG. I also am thinking of giving fat 3 units. If I could just get in between the 3 units and the 3.25 units I might get more blues, less yellows and no mid greens. Thank you, again, and wish me luck! Oh, I will try the coconut oil.

Summer I wish you tons of luck. We all have our own path we have to follow. Stress is not good for either of you. I admire you for speaking your truth. I know you will do the very best job for and with Susie. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I think your idea of trying the fat 3 is worth trying.
