Good Morning LL!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (per the norm: DGS recovery fuel) and Happy Caturday!
PHEW! It's a good thing that Elsa has gotten the 10 hour energy ~O) down. All us beans are in dire need. Yesterday a delivery truck pulled up, loaded with frozen yogurt. It seems she wanted to try that with the ~O) and see if it was better than the ice cream. hmmmmm.... I had one comment for her: :o , and stick with the ice cream. It's a good thing that all those kitties that came to play in the treehouse liked frozen yogurt. ;-) So it seems we are back to a dollop of ice cream with the mochas. Today it seems she was into caramel. I found it all over the kitchen counter, on the floor, with puddles of melted caramel on the table. Hmmmmm... must have been alot of sampling going on. I will admit though that caramel mocha this morning, with a dollop of fudge ice cream, was mighty tasty. Best get your orders in folks...

Today is a bittersweet day for me. It was five years ago today that we received the DX that Mannie was diabetic. Five years.... I had hoped he would be able to celebrate that feat with all his buddies here, but alas, that was not to be. I can think back on those early days with a smile now. They were rough ones. We were shooting blind, mainly becasue we knew no differently. Three hypos, three events I hope no one has to ever go through. How far we had/have come since those early days (thank you FDMB!)... Five glorious years with one heckuva cat. Mannie, my boy, I thank you for it all, from the bottom of my heart. There is a large part of me that is so happy that there are not more pokies for you, or tests, or illness. You celebrate well at the Bridge today. It is wonderful for me to think that now you are whole and healthy once again. Party on big guy! cat_pet_icon You will be forever in my heart.

Nicholas and I had a great day at the pool yesterday. The ENERGIZER FISH had another awesome day. We were back to swimming all over the big pool with the noodle, jumping in from anywhere and everywhere, swimming underwater, and just having a grand time. I so wish I had his energy! He wanted to do the trail by the pool again afterwards, so we did that too, after a mammoth lunch. How does that kid eat so much. well duh....burns it off. I brought him home for a nap. under such protest. oh sure... I can hear him in there laughing and playing. wow, impressive! no nappin' today. I so feel for his mom and dad.... We ended up the day with a trip to a waterfall near by to where his dad works, and sat on the grass and ate strawberries. What a perfect end to a very busy day. Here are the links to the photos and videos from yesterday, once again a bit repetitive, but fun I hope nonetheless. Picassa: At days end: Kirkland, Lynnwood Pool Trail, and Swimming.

Have a great day everyone! Enjoy your weekend. Caturday is a catch up ay for me: shopping laundry, errands, all the fun stuff. As always I hope I will be able to take a hike to the shore here. Paws crossed!

And kitties.... remember! Think BLUE, think GREEN!

Morning Michelle, oh how funny with Elsa and the truckload of frozen yogurt. The kitties partied hardy yesterday and enjoyed the yogurt sundaes. Mags said she will be over today to help with cleanup in the TreeHouse.
Elsa, I think that caramel mocha, with a dollop of fudge ice cream sounds good.
Oh gosh, is it five years today. I came on LL in 2010, so you and Mannie were there two years ahead of us.
Yes, no more pokies or pills aand Mannie is whole and celebrating with all our GA kitties.
I will take a look at the pics when Elsa comes with my 10 hour Energy coffee. Sounds like a great time yesterday.
Enjoy your day catching up and a walk at the short. I think I have catch up chores, too.

Hi, ((Michelle)),
Bittersweet indeed. Five years ago you started learning a new language, a new routine, a living new way of life, and finding new things to celebrate. You became the Ultimate Bean In Charge for Mr. Mannie, and he spent 5 years thanking you for it. Here's to you, Michelle, and to Mannie, One Heckuva Cat.

Enjoy your weekend! I hope you get to bask in some Sunbeams today :-D .

It is definitely bittersweet. I hope you can remember the good times you were able to give Mannie by taking such good care of him. It does make us closer to our furbabies having to manage this disease.

Good Morning, Michelle,

Our boys, Mannie and Stu, veterans of "shooting blind" and happy participants in FDMB when their beans finally found it, are certainly celebrating Mannie's 5-year dx anniversary at the Bridge. I wonder what they will cook for the big occasion? The Two Chefs' Kitchen will be rockin' tonight!

Great pics of the FISH and his favorite places. He is so lucky to have a grandma who takes him to such fun places.

Elsa, the 10-hour was needed today. Rusty says that the frozen yogurt was OK, but that the cimmamum icecream is better!

Have a good day doing your chores, Michelle, and I hope you get in a walk to the shore.

Ella & Rusty

Hi Michelle, I just sat down with Elsa's 10 Hour Energy Coffee and looked at DGS pics, and I so agree, he is a very lucky boy to have all these experiences. Beautiful pics, and DGS shows his gratitude with how much he enjoys it all. Mr. Bear is smaller than I though fitting in the coffee cup. That's a great trail behind the pool, too.
BTW, when is the new grandbaby due? Seems to me it may be round the corner.

Morning Everyone! ~O) ~O) ~O)

Hi Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) oh too fun on the yogurt, the kitties, and the cleanup. Some things just don't change. Yupp, it would have been 5 years today. we came on board here late in 2009, a year or so after DX. I wish I'd found LL sooner, but just was clueless... aiyee! Funny, but I do remember your first days here... :-D SO the kitties will celebrate today, going to eb a busy one the at the Bridge. THX on yesterday, and enjoy the pics! sorry there are so many.... a major shutterbug here. ;-)
ETA: THX on the pics! and the experiences comment..We do have a great time together. Very cool on the pool trail - it is nice, and short enough that we can walk it in the amount of time we have after he swims. It works out well. I have to laugh at the Bear comment - yes he isn't all that big: easily hand held, maybe 6" long. Nicholas calls him his adventure Bear. oh: new grandbaby due 6/27, so getting very close! :-D
Auntie Ann - I thought so too - I can be right over!~~Elsa, BIT

Hi Josie ~O) ~O) ~O) oh thank you! how kind you are. and yes - we entered a whole new world back then. and in the long run it was such a good one. Thank you for all. I so hope on the sunbeams today - Mannie has his work cut out for him today - we have such cloud cover! Every now and then I get a glimpse of blue.... YAY!

Morning Carla ~O) ~O) ~O) Many thanks, and yes, I can. There are so many great memories. Oh yes on the comment about how it does bring us closer to our furbabies. so so true!

Morning Ella ~O) ~O) ~O) When I think of shooting blind, I think of you too. I know you were a veteran of that as well. Thank goodness we finally found LL, huh! I am grateful. Can';t you see the celebration at Two Cat's Kitchen today. Mannie and Stu are rockin' the kitchen today. no doubt. :-D :-D THX on the pics, and the adventures. We both have such fun with it. And THX: Me too on the shore walk today. So far the weather is looking good, so I had better get all done here so I can go!
Auntie Ella - I know... my bean said so too! ice cream it is from now on! Rusty was very adamant about that. He's so good with fuds, and I am such a rookie.... ~~ Elsa, BIT

We shot blind for a while too, until Anne found LL. We are ever so grateful and so is Zener. :-D :-D Elsa is doing a great job with the coffee and everything. The caramel everywhere, though   , good thing the kitties pitch in on the cleanup. Have a great day, Michelle!
Liz

Hey Lil BIT,

Why are you experimenting with yogurt - don't you know that ice cream is best! My bean asked for caramel no mocha and lots of fudge ice cream! Can you make a special order?

What a day, it's Mr. Mannie's annifursary and we need to make it special. I know, do you know how to make a cake? Let's have it ready for tomorrow when I announce my big surprise and we can celebrate Mannie too! ooooh I can't wait. I just hope my bean doesn't embarrass me!

Signed Maui the Magnificent, bursting to tell the surprise

Hi Michelle,

I am glad you can think back at the last 5 years with a smile. Mannie was a special kitty, I'm glad you guys had each other. Hope you are enjoying your day,

Kathie

Good Morning everyone! ~O) ~O) ~O) Yupp, still morning, I just checked....

Hi Liz ~O) ~O) ~O) I so agree with that. I am so glad too! LOL on Elsa, the girl is trying...  Too fun.

Maui! Ok I can do that! I will admit - that is what I ate this morning... so one caramel no mocha lots of fudge ice cream coming up. :-D I dunno on the cake...but Rusty is here so maybe he can help me. That would be cool, as Mannie loved cakes, especially the cimmamum ones. ~~ Elsa, aka Lil Bit

Hi Kathie ~O) ~O) ~O) Yupp, that I can. There were so many good times! THX too: the day has been a good one.

These annifursaries are so bittersweet. I think we all owe so much to FDMB and are so thankful to have found it. Guess I'm a lucky one to have found it right away, but after dealing w/ Cleo's CRF I knew to look for a support group and FDMB was right on the top of the list! You saw Mannie through so many things, you are truly a tireless and impressive bean! The Two Cat's Kitchen will indeed be rocking today, "Parties for Every and Any Occasion!"

TESS! My bad, so so bad! Uhhhhh.... can you please helps me with cake? For my bro? Thanks, Elsa.... so totally a newbie in the kitchen....

Hi Ann - LOVE that photo! Rockin' they are, I am so so sure. :-D :-D I so agree with all of that. I had a friend at work who knew FDMB, and finally got me on board, after over a year without. AIyee.... and many thanks. I do miss him.
Auntie Ann - OK! WOW - this is so cool! I gots customers!! Now I know why Mannie loved doing this. He used to go on and on about it all. This is mega cool! ~~ Elsa, Still BIT

(((Michelle))) It is so sad that Mannie is not still with you for his fifth anniversary, but he is very much still here in spirit. There is so much about that one heckuva guy to celebrate. He will be here forever not only in your heart, but in all of our hearts, for many anniversaries to come. I know that there is a huge party going on at the Bridge, and that Elsa will be busy making a large order "to go" for all of the kitties partying there.

A bittersweet annifursary.... but it was all full of blessings...
More time with Mannie... lots of new friends..and old friends.... lots of paying it forward...
Mannie was such a blessing.
Hugs!

I am guilty of the blind shooting, too. But thank heavens for FDMB...for all of our kitties' well-being. In celebration of Mannie's 5 year annifursary, Shasta and I will snuggle in a Mannie beam. Blessings to you, Mannie, Elsa, Nicholas & family!

Happy Caturday Night everyone! drinking24 Here's to you Mannie! I hope you are enjoying your annifursary party. :-D

Hi Linda :-D Yupp, that it is. I really had hoped he would make five years, he was so close, just a few days short... I so agree with that: his still being here in spirit. That has become so obvious to me over the course of the past few weeks. I am so grateful for that, for his still being alive in so many hearts. Just think - he is able to be with Bear Man once again, How cool is that! And yupp too on Elsa - she has been MIA for a while today, no doubt taking care of those "to go" deliveries...

HI Rhiannon :-D Yupp, that is was: so full of blessings. I thought about alot of all of that today. so many things to be grateful for. He was indeed a blessing.

Hi Deborah :-D :-D :-D There seems to be alot of beans that shot blind for a while. OH yes: so agreed on FDMB. What a great thing it is for us, for our kitties. -- Very cool on that sunbean celebration. Mannie would be very pleased. :-D

Happy Caturday night to you too Michelle. I hope you got out on a trail for some thinking time today, before the rains started. It is indeed a bittersweet anniversary. We shot blind for two months too. I am so glad Mannie made it through those hypo incidents so he could provide all those wonderful memories for you. ((HUGS))

For some reason, I have a craving for ice cream today. Well done Elsa!

HI Wendy!

Man y thanks! no, no hike today, I got involved with yard work and just didn't make it... I am hoping that on Monday I can head on over the mountains into eastern Washington for an all day one. Paws crossed. -- Me too On Mannie. we survived it all, as tough as it first was. Sometimes even the tough times can give good memories. What a ride it all was - a good one! -- and too funny on the ice cream. Elsa will be very happy!
