Things heard only in a feline diabetes household: "I'm putting the Mother's Day cake in the shower so Ember can't get to it. Don't let me forget where it is!" (I was using the oven and microwave so I had to find someplace else to store the cake!) 
Luckily my parents are also cat people so they were totally unfazed.
