With warm weather today, Rosie is enjoying some sunshine and fresh air with windows open.

All of this nice weather has got me thinking about opening the summer house. It is always a production to travel 5 hours with Rose and her 3 civvies. I'm in list making mode now to make sure we have enough food and supplies to be there for about 2 weeks. I'm usually making a plan in mid April, but everything is at least 2 weeks behind because of the the late spring thaw.

:bighug:

I hate constipation!!!! Why do some kitties have to suffer from it?

I'm glad Rosie is cleaned out now:p Do you keep a written record of when Rosie goes?

Yep - I agree. This has been the hardest part of her care for me (no pun intended). :p I did not initially understand the very significant impact constipation had on her BG values and have only recently come to understand that she won't eat if she feels too full. Rose has never had appy issues and I believe they have only recently started in response to episodes of constipation. Add that to dehydration / kidney issues and it can spiral out of control quickly.

Yes, I have kept a "dump log" for a similar purpose. Early on, it was important to know how much and where she went. Early signs of constipation for her included inappropriate locations (i.e. the couch). Since then, she is much better about going in the box, but I don't often see her go. With other cats in the house, it is hard to know who is who...

We are so data driven here it is easy to focus too much on BG alone. I did that a couple of times and completely missed that she was very constipated.

I have 9 dogs & 6 cats living with me in a 5th wheel, those pads are invaluable to me! No one else has this value! I'm at a loss as to what do without them, the ones I had to buy do not measure up!

These are still not back in stock at my local store. As a shareholder, I investigated the problems with the Walmart brand. From my investigation, they are OK for small amounts of liquid and any solid, but the problem is when there is a large volume of liquid or that volume is quickly released - they can't absorb fast enough. So... I have gone to "Wee Wee" brand which is more expensive. I have found something else at a great price from Chewy, but need to do testing before making a recommendation.

Hope spring sunshine finds each kitty and bean today! :cat:
