Rosie had a follow-up visit with the vetty bean today. I'm so glad that labs and physical condition are better. While her weight has not improved, the fact that she is no longer constipated "outweighs" any slight dip in actual weight per the vet. :p

I hope to continue to work on the numbers and see some more improvement in about 1 month. Meanwhile, we will finish the current course of ABs and continue with fluids, supplements and other meds. I'm also supposed to work on my own diagnostic skills to learn how to feel if there is a constipation problem. For now, appy and BG are my best indicators.

I'd say this is good news! :)

:bighug:

I hate constipation!!!! Why do some kitties have to suffer from it?

I'm glad Rosie is cleaned out now:p Do you keep a written record of when Rosie goes?
What is working for Ming is I have a hand written Poop chart:rolleyes:. It really helps me keep track and I know when two full days have passed without a poop I need to up his Miralax. If I don't I could never remember in my head the last time he went. This is the only way I can stay on top of it. Before I would lose track of when he went last and boom he stopped eating and was so constipated he would have a poop "crowning" but he couldn't get it out. We called 'em butt plugs:(. Would have to go to vet and have it removed and then he would eventually go but with pain. It all caught up with him and that's why he ended up in ER in December because it was a severe case along with dehydration. I know ECID is different and Bronx can go many more days without a poop, for Ming two full days in between and then we need to take action. I typically give 1/8 tsp in the AM and 1/4 tsp in PM of Miralax but every once in a while I need to add another 1/8 or so. No rhyme or reason why the standard dose doesn't quite work but keeping the cart has been the best thing I could've done. I do have to tweak the dose pretty often which is why charting is so very helpful.
