This is our weekly "we are still here" post. We are still here (though not on the Board so much any more). His BG numbers have been erratic, with an unwelcome dip into the 50's on the night of Teddy's birthday party. Bear celebrated with a couple of cans of HC gravy. Since his appetite is so unpredictable, his numbers can be influenced by not eating, or by eating high carb foods, if that is what he will nibble at. It is what it is, and there is not too much I can do about it. He seems otherwise OK. Lots of liquipoo this last week, but also lots of purring and cuddliness. He does seem to be showing some weakness in his front legs now, as well as his hind legs, and our experiment with methylcobalamin seemed to cause him a lot of stomach grief.

From our photo album this week:

Hi Linda - terrific photo of Bear man in his stroller. That is downright awesome.

I wish you the best, for Bear Man too. You're right - it is what it is, and one goes with the flow. I hope you and Bear Man have a good week.

((((hugs)))) from Michelle and Mannie

Hi Linda,
I have to say that Bear Man IS The Man; I love that picture and I would frame it!
I hope you and the boys have an awesome week, filled with more purry and cuddly times, along with many outings in the fine stroller!

Oh my, how regal! Y'know.....I never noticed how theatrical his eyeliner is! He's got the check marks under his eyes, with the line above each eye and giving me a kind of "Mask of Zorro" feel. I loves it!

Will Teddy go out in the stroller too?

I haven't decided about the other kitties. Bear is the only one I feel safe taking out, because he can't possibly run away.

Thanks for pointing that out about the eye liner - I never noticed it either!

EL-OH-VE-EE Bear's Photo i the stroller! He certainly is the "man" with the tude!! And the tude sez "I am, therefore I AM" Thanks for the update on Bear. Sending some more feel better vines!

What A Gorgeous BOY :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup cat_pet_icon He looks soooo lovable!! Wish I could take out mine in a stroller--They would freak & think if they are outside, it means THE VET
Have a beautiful week with you fur babies!! HUGS!

That stroller picture IS adorable. So they make these strollers FOR pets? Is the screening extra tough? that is really kewl! Does he like it?

The next picture I want to see is Bear Man in his mouse ears AND stroller!
I think you might have more people staring at you than Pat with her rabbit and milk! ;-) Might be worth it though.

It sounds like things are ok. Status quo? Sorry about the front leg weakness. Its really hard to see these things, isnt it? Latte's front legs shake sometimes when she is standing. The thing I have been 'trying' to do as of late is remind myself of what a great LONG life she has had. Its so easy to focus on all the icky stuff now, and forget all the great things they have and may even continue to experience. We all get old (Im relating to that lately), and things change. The one thing that doesnt change is the great life they, or we have had...and the love that they continue to receive.

((((((linda)))))) ((((((bear man))))))

(((((((Teddy))))))) Happy belated Bday! I did read about your wonderful day. Im sorry we could not celebrate with you. However, we did celebrate in spirit.

no i wasn't sneaking peeks at the link on your SS to baby teddy again i swear! okay i was, but joan made me do it. always her fault ya know. ;-)

loved the stroller pics!!! sigh, he looks so great in them, so well and so handsome. we can't see the weak front legs or poo problems or other things in those, so easy to forget those exist when gazing on his image. but he does look happy. relaxed. alert. enjoying himself. and that makes me happy.

well obvious from SS that bearman keeps his sugahs in his colon. every time you write in comments 'explosive diarrhea' bam, his numbrahs drop. unfortunately so does his appy then too. have you ever thought about just doing the rubbing of karo on gums when you have that going on rather than stressing trying to get him to eat? (newbies reading this, bearman is very complicated medical case, regular old HC canned works better for you, this suggestion is just for linda).
and wish they would hurry up and invent those 1/10cc syringes so you could give that 0.5257502505075025 dose that might be just right for him. i know, so hard to settle on a dose since so much of his numbers are about how he is doing at the moment rather than amount of insulin on board. does he give you warning that diarrhea episode is approaching by behavior? so like you would know to give BCS dose before work even though AMPS doesn't scream for it so that you don't come home to number lower than you want and questions in mind wondering where he was while you were working?
btw, is newspaper your BFF? when my DC had his explosive diarrhea and dripping liquipoo issues era the sunday NYTimes saved my sanity.... and floor and couch and bed, etc. would paper his hang out spots before leaving for work so would just have to roll up the soiled papers when i got home.

just throwing out there anything i can think of to help you and your very full plate. wish i could do more for you, but you do plenty awesome balancing job there all by yourself. :YMHUG:

Such a GREAT photo Linda! that is just soooo cute! Does he enjoy the walks? That is so funny! handsome boy!
You are such a good Bean to your boys....and to usa ll here...thank you for your words of support to us all the time! We always love seeing you!! HUGS to you all!! :YMHUG:

Awwww :) Does it stay stationary, or have you started taking him on mini-strolls?

How skittish are the rest? If they're fairly calm and loud noises (think motorcycles, lawnmowers, trucks), big dogs (they will come up to sniff!) and people don't unnerve them, then they may be fine. But otherwise, it's probably not safe.

Some of the Pet Gear strollers come with a tether or safety harness inside for you to hook a leash and harness to. Ours doesn't, so when we first took Meowzi out in hers, we would loop and knot her leash on to the handle. We don't do that anymore now that we know pretty much nothing fazes her (nothing but the big brown UPS truck and the vet tech who lives in the next block )

Cali cannot go out in the stroller b/c she's way too skittish. We took her for a little spin just outside the door and she tried to claw her way out. A full stroll would be an ordeal for her, plus I can't trust her not to escape in a panic even with a double leash looped into the handle.

Hi Linda & Bear & Teddy, This is a wonderful photo of Bear Man. Stu has enjoyed a few drinks at the bar with Bear at the parties, but he's a bit in awe of him still. Have a happy day and we hope Bear's health issues clear up soon.

Ella & Stu
