Hi There, So I did his preshot and it was 6.3 (113). Because it was low I decided to use our back up meter and retested. That meter came up 4.3 (77). I'm stalling until I get advice. No food or shot yet. Thanks

Test again in 15-20 minutes. This is a shootable number if you are home to monitor, have plenty of test strips and high carb food.

Adding, you shot full dose on 135 a couple weeks and half dose on a 103 a week ago. So this is somewhere in between.

One interesting thing is that when he was low last week, he wasn't hungry and turned down breakfast (until it had gravy on it!). Today he is running around yelling for brekkie, so I think that's a good thing, to be low and be hungry like the other kitties in the house.

Oh that second meter complicates things!! But good to check.
113 is s safe number for you to shoot ss long as you can test all cycle. You would need to get s +1 and +2 and then all cycle. Are you going to be home all day and have plenty of strips and higher carb food?

I'll be home for the next 4 hours, then husband will be home for most of the day after I leave.

Tucker is in good hands - you are well prepared, and his BG is in good shape.

I'm still having a hard time getting used to this 14.5 hour time difference. Theresa asked me "So if you drive 15 minutes west of Adelaide, is there another 15 minute time zone?" It was mostly in jest, but I looked it up just in case I was wrong.

Good job shooting this AM, Patty! Glad you did so you don't lose any momentum. I think you'll be okay until around +4 for your next test. It appears he is on the rise , but he is a cat and we can't trust them......

I went ahead and did a +2 and he had risen quite a bit to 9.2 (166). He's been running around playing chasey with Daisy and now they are both sleeping on the bed together, perfectly normal and happy Saturday morning.

Tucker sounds like he's feeling much better with these numbers than his mommabean is. :p

Could you change the subject line to reflect your current BG test data? Thanks. Looks like you've got this now.

Tucker's numbers are looking good. Isn't it great when you have control of the BG, insulin, and diet...and you can sleep well knowing all that!:bighug:

On Tuckers SS you wrote, back in July that he got into the kittens Dry food?
Dry food is NOT good to feed any cat! Some believe it can cause Diabetes!
Did you read the sticky by Dr. Pierson about dry food?
Some cats can go into remission just taking them off the dry food.
Best of luck :)

For the future, if you get a falling number at +9 or +10, get a +11 so when you get the PMPS and it is low, you will be able to see if it is higher or lower than the +11.

I waited and did a +30 minute repeat test and he went up to 6.4. I'm going to shoot and test at +1 etc to make sure he is safe.

Yes I think Tucker is safe for you to shoot.
I see you are getting the hang of it all! Well done! You are an old hand at this now!;)
C.an you post the BSLs as you do them so we can see please....actually putting them in the subject line would be even better. Thanks.

I texted Patty this morning when there was no word from her last night or this morning to see if all was well. She said she had posted numbers but I can't see where. Anyway Tucker is OK

But I had to laugh Bobbie and Jeff at your hilarious little conversation above.
Jeff: "It's 1.15am Adelaide. If you are still awake can you test and post?"
Bobbie: "Who is Adelaide?"
Jeff: Patty and Tucker live in Adelaide, Australia. They are asleep now."
I am still laughing as I read it again!:joyful:
