Morning LL.

The rain has finally come and that means no deck time today. Sigh. Six is in decent spirits regardless. I fed him...what's not to like about life? A few of the Ps are in place. I keep trying to remember if I gave him his Chinese med pill this morning. :YMSIGH: I wish I could rewind and see if I did.

Have a great day LL friends and kitties!

Re: 4/8 Six's AMPS 105

Good morning, Amy & Six!! Nice AMPS # this morning :thumbup
No deck time today, huh? Maybe some good snoozing to the sounds of rain drops ;-)
I used to walk up at 3:30am to shoot Baby & then go back to bed for a few hours before work, I would then wake up a few hours later out of sorts -- thinking, did I shoot or didn't I? I know EXACTLY how you feel.. about wondering if you did or didn't. I remember at the time, I was going to do something .. like leave a note for myself & when I shot throw the note away -- that way I would know if the note was gone I shot  I never got around to doing that, I just changed my routine & go to the gym instead of back to bed, it has worked out!! Maybe you could count your pills & write down the #.. or take 1 pill each night & put it in a baggie or spot that way you would know? I dunno.. just thinking out loud here.

Anyway.. wonderful wishes to you both for a beautiful day!!

Re: 4/8 Six's AMPS 105

Nicole...I was just thinking this morning that I need to do something like you suggested! Thanks for the ideas.

BTW, do you ever sleep?

Re: 4/8 Six's AMPS 105

Hi Amy....it's tough remembering things that you do each day....get a system as Nicole suggests....something that helps you. :YMSIGH: I can empathize completely.
Hope you two have a good day...I like six's AMPS....

It's mind over matter---If you have no mind, it dosnt matter    (which I do not have!!)
I forget so much more than I used to when I was younger--
I leave lists, have a journal which I write Moonie's shot time & dose in every day--You could write down, or make a mark when you give the pill...
Maybe you could leave yours near the bed with a pen, & write down what you did, & you'd know!!
Sure writing while unconscious  --But just an idea, maybe just jot it down- or if you give a pill-Great number this am--
Six is doing SUPER!!!!!!

Re: 4/8 Six's AMPS 105

Sorry for the rain Amy. We are exxpecting thuderstorms here this afternoon.
Rain drives me bonkers.

Hopefully Six and the gang can get to the deck this weekend.
April showers bring ay flowers, or one would hope anyways.

Have great day, if you can remember.

Re: 4/8 Six's AMPS 105

Nice numbers this morning. I like to ignore +1 numbers 'cause there's too much breffus on board.

How about one of those weekly pill dosers? Set it up once a week and then you can see if the day's medication is gone.

Be grateful for the rain. We're at the end of our rainy season, then no more until Oct./Nov.!!!

Re: 4/8 Six's AMPS 105

Looks like Six is having a nice day despite the rain! Keep up the good work!

I also write down Max's numbers, food, and doses in a little notepad I keep on the counter by the testing supplies. I can't get to his ss until I get to work, so I have to keep notes, but it also helps to be sure that he did in fact get his shot when he needed it, and what we fed when he dropped low.

And seriously Nicole, you wake up for the day at 3:30?!? What time do you go to bed? I'd be a walking zombie if I got up then...it's bad enough when the baby wakes me up at 4:30!

Re: 4/8 Six's AMPS 105

Re: 4/8 Six's PMPS 129 - timed feeder question

It's mind over matter---If you have no mind, it dosnt matter    (which I do not have!!)

Perfect!!!! I can't believe how forgetful I am these days. I love the motto...I think I'm going to adopt it.

Will figure out the pill thing this weekend...super ideas and thanks to all for sharing...next question...

Ok, I wasn't around today to give the snack at +9 and look at his PMPS! We've had great PMPS the past two nights and it has to be related to the snack. So...

1. How many meals a day/night should I be aiming for if I am going to really start breaking his meals into mini meals?

2. haha_smiley Ok, had to do that first because this question is the really important one...I have 7 cats. What is the likelihood of a timed feeder (the only way I could do day mini meals) working with that many cats? Anyone else have this experience? I do have one cat that if he knows there is food being released at a certain time...well, he'd be all over that timed feeder. He might stay away from Six's new spot if this timed feeder makes noise because he's a scaredy cat.

There are some days there's enough food for Six to graze on up until his +9...it just depends on what the others thought of the food selection for the day. But if I try to leave Six food specifically, he eats all of his food within the first two hours so there's none left so the timed feeder is the only option.

I haven't gone looking yet...plan on doing it tomorrow if I'm not laughed out of LL for trying a timed feeder with 7 cats.

Re: 4/8 Six's PMPS 129 timed feeder ?

I don't know what you can do about the foods but the pills are easy.
Any pharmacy and even dollar stores should have little plastic containers, with a variety of choices. The one you may like is one that has the day of the week on each lidded compartment. Fill it once a week, then leave it where you prepare shots or some other place.

Re: 4/8 Six's PMPS 129 timed feeder ?

I use the 2 compartment feeder and each one has a separate setting. If you could afford it, you could buy maybe two (or three) of these and set all the timers to open at the same time, say at +6.

Re: 4/8 Six's PMPS 129 timed feeder ?

7 cats at one feeder! Yeah... I'm not sure there will be one for a herd of cats
I have a 2 compartments and it works well for 2 cats eating out of the same bowl... when they 'have' to. The 5 compartment one Lisa and Do Lou proposed might be your best option. I hope this helps
