Yesterday's Day 3 OTJ Trial Condo

Good Morning LL!

We start Day 4's adventure with a mellow 87, a flying pass over the turbo scratcher and a crazy chasing-his-own-tail "falling off the edge of the chair" session. Leo the lover again slept crashed against his bean. Nothing like being nailed to the bed in your sleep when a cat finds you unconscious with your legs apart.

Leo has been eating ALL his food lately. He gets 1.5 cans of FF each cycle. I know that's more than the formula calls for (which is about 1 can a cycle for his weight) but he's a very active cat. His scale is at home and I'll weigh him when we get back. But WOW on the CPC lately!

:?: So a question ... yesterday Ann & Maggie called Leo "our miracle boy" and Wendy said it's nice to see a cat go OTJ after so long. Is Leo unusual in his journey? Not to jinx the 4 OTJ trials in progress, but Mego was 14 days on insulin, Solider 17 days, Star 27 days and Leo 224 days. Are the other kitties more typical?

Thanks for the late night visits Liz, Carla, Angela, John and Wendy. Hmmm, something about St. Patty's day when Leo started hitting the greens hard. When is the next green holiday? Wendy, Ann and Tess asked. Hmmm.

Happy Caturday! I'm off to check out a new trail in a park near here that's supposed to be dirt - easier on the joints. Will be about 44F - it's sunny but the trails will probably be shady. Should be a nice run!

WOO HOO, HAPPY DAY 4!!!!

Way to go Leo! Sounds like Leo is full of it today  Congrats on the CPC

Shortly after I adopted Zeus, I woke up one night and was nailed to the bed. I was really out of it, must have been a really deep sleep, anyway I couldn't move my legs and had a WTH moment. Then I realized that Zeus was laying across the back of my legs. I don't know how he could have been comfy, but I guess he was  silly kitties.

Have a great run Lisa

Yippee Leo! Show them how suprising cats can be by being an exception to the rule. OTJ is yours!!!

Happy Day 4!

I've read about other cats going OTJ after being on insulin for a long time. I'm not sure how common it is though. Leo gives us hope that our kitties who have been on insulin for a while can still go OTJ.

    Up to a year is not that unusual, but I think we see most OTJ cats in the first 3 months. Maybe vets are catching FD earlier and cats are getting treatment earlier so it is easier to go OTJ.

Hi Lisa & Leo,

    Four Mr. Greens for you today, Leo! Lookin' good!

Devon's and Peter's Mocha was here more than two years before going OTJ. I think quite a few of the kitties were, but I don't remember details. "Normally", if they are going to go OTJ they do it within a year of diagnosis, I believe.

Enjoy the weekend,

Ella & Rusty

ROFLMAO! Kudos to runners, but running is not pleasant to me, Dyana! When I go in the woods, be it to walk, look for mushrooms, sheds, flowers, I always Open Carry because if my life depended on it, I could not run fast enough to get away from a criminal, but with my trusty friend on my hip, I'm the fastest sprinter in the world  and anyone would be an idiot to approach a woman blatantly wearing a gun (but they are such a fashion must)!!!

Anyways:

GO LEO, GO LEO, GO LEO, GO LEO, GO LEO

YIPPPPEEEEE!!! DAY FOUR!!!!!!!

Love Leo's antics this morning and that his numbers are looking so great!!!

There have been others that have taken a lot longer to go OTJ. Libby's Lucy took a very long time (I think close to 2 years maybe) and she's still OTJ after four years. Just enjoy it!! :-D

Hi All!

Pretty tired - please forgive the mass response. I got back a bit ago from a day of me-time!!! I found a nice new trail to run! It seems to be safe, I saw several people, families and dogs, so I think it's good. But I agree, there are times I'd like to have a little friend by my side, Kat. Alas, incredibly not legal in either state.

So it seems there is a wide range of times for kittehs to go OTJ. Prayers and vines for EVERY KITTEH here to OTJ by next week. Or next month. Kittehs don't deserve this. Leo is being a good boy, and laying against the chair leg right now as I type.

Gobby is so handsome! Video looks good, Kat! Boy, I can tell you come from Ohio - my family is from there and boy you sound a lot like my aunt! I haven't lived there in years so I'd say I probably have just remnants. Reminds me of "home". :-D

WOOT WOOT, still dancing here! Happy day Four!! dancing_cat dancing_cat dancing_cat dancing_cat

I hope your day has been a good one! The trail run sounds awesome - so glad you found one you like. and yes on the variety of days/weeks. year for Kitties to go OTJ. I heard of once that was 5 years.

Looking good Leo. It is just so exciting to see you on your trial. Cheers to you along the way.

Lisa. nice to see you getting some wellllll deserved me-time in.
