Good evening, L&LL,
I spent the day on the road. In the morning I went to Lake Placid to Rusty's vet to get a prescription for Relion syringes. This afternoon I drove to Plattsburgh to the Walmart and got the prescription filled. But they gave me syringes with a super-short needle (6mm instead of 8mm, as in the prescription). (see yesterday's condo for a picture of the wrapper). I only discovered this when I got home and wasn't about to drive another 100 miles. The needle looks really short, but I'll get used to it. Tomorrow I'll begin working on "translating" Rusty's dose for the Relions. In the meantime, tomorrow begins my week with the wonderful Terumos (I'm alternating weeks with Monojects and Terumos so the discontinued Terumos will be around longer).
It looks like Rusty had a bounce this morning, or maybe last night was a short shot (it is impossible to measure Rusty's tiny dose on the Monojects because of the cone: the lines, however, are good). This morning's shot was short (about 1/2 drop left in the syringe, plus there was a bubble). We'll see what happens tonight. It's always a surprise with the Monojects.
Edward and Rusty had a good day while I was out. They spent some time outdoors this morning (when it wasn't raining). Rusty's appetite was OK. Edward held his bowl and made sure he ate. At the PetSmart this afternoon I discovered a new (to me) 3-oz can of Wellness Core "smooth paté": I bought the Turkey & Duck (which he likes in the 5.5 oz can) and a Chicken, Turkey and Chicken Liver. I don't think they are exactly the same as the usual Core formulations. For one thing, they are called "recipe", whereas the old Core cans are called "formula". They are carrageenan-free. I'm going to try one on Rusty tomorrow. Calorie content is good. Who knows what the carbs are!
Going down to hold Rusty's dinner bowl. bbl
