The vet visit went great!!!
Of course, yes, the only thing that happened was an examination. This was our first consultation with this vet, so there was some catching up to do. But I'm so glad we went. We didn't talk too much about the diabetes b/c I showed him the spreadsheet and told him about FDMB (yahoo!) and he must have felt like we were doing a good job  And Moses' behavior was so good today! Totally different kitty. Car ride over was a little better than normal. They had this nice quiet office, with calm scents and it was just peaceful w/plants. Moses was meowing b/c of the new environment, but not totally freaked out. It was such a relief. We did such a great job today, what a blessing  The one bummer is the stress got to the little guy a little bit on the way home in the car, he piddled on his towel in the pet carrier. Thankfully none got on the car floor, but I could smell it. And Moses is such a clean kitty, I knew he went potty b/c he had the "yuck, I'm sitting in it!!!" meow after. Totally different from the "I'm gonna throw up!" meow. lol
Ok ok, I'm just so happy it went well. Okay, now about his health:
My new vet listened to his heart and heard a galloping heartbeat. He definitely wanted to have further testing done before we would talk about surgery on the lump. He referred me to an Animal Diagnosis Clinic to receive a radiograph of his thorax in 2 views, and a choice between an full ECG or a preoperative ECG. Once Moses has these tests done, and then the vet has the information, we can decide where to go from here. He agrees with my other vet that Moses' mass is probably not cancer, b/c cancer is aggressive in cats and hits hard and fast. Moses has had a pea mass since 2002, so I believe his lump may still only be cosmetic. Which is good.
... I'm feeling a little strange right now b/c I'm reading the photocopy of Moses' history to the fax he sent to the clinic :? It's a really poor photocopy, I can barely read it. Looks like he wrote psymptomatic of heart disease... which is scaring me a little bit. Reading over my old vets chart, she did talk about his heart being enlarged. Scary :?
Okay, well. Today the vet visit went wonderful. I'm so glad he's easy to talk to and understand. I'm going to take one day at a time. And today is good
