Ugh not sure what's happening. Really wondering if it's because giving shots in two separate areas. Insulin doesn't seem bad (he still drops a fair amount in a cycle), though I'm on the last few shots of the vial. That, or something underlying, or just diabetes being a PITA.

He's acting mostly fine other than not liking bigger injections, and drinking more than usual

Have you considered switching to Levimir?
Do you recommend Levimir when Lantus doesn't seem to work, Elise? I have been wondering the same for Susie. We seem to be blocked from any improvements. I also have a ton of Lantus left so it could be a while. Maybe I haven't given the Lantus enough time. Sorry to hijack your post, Melissa.

No problem! I do think you need to keep increasing Susie's dose.

In my case, I really need to switch to Levemir because the high Lantus dose is stinging him...and it appears that doing the shot in two different spots may be losing efficacy since his numbers are creeping up. Could be due to many things but that's my first suspicion.

Thanks, Melissa. If you look at my Susie's spreadsheet she is actually doing worse than she was a month ago. Granted, she has had two convenia shots but this constant lack of improvement really worries me. I just don't know what to think. Is this glucose intolerance? Is it the convenia shots? We are just making no progress.
